At least I wasn't adopted like you were.
In the Veilguard and BG3 forums, they're complaining about how everyone being a potential sex partner, and not giving the NPCs a preference is an "agenda", too. Pick a lane, FFS.
Here's a thought. Let us pick the sexual orientation of each NPC in the beginning of the game, during the set up. They could also allow us to use the character creator on those NPCs. This way, we could make Cora hot, if we wanted to. Or, somebody could make her very ugly, if they wanted to.
Video games need to lean into what makes them unique in the entertainment world, and that is the ability to tailor the experience.
The reason you are seeing what you are seeing is because it's a backlash. People got tired of the agenda being forced on them. Now, they are super sensitive to it. So lock all that triggering stuff behind a single choice in the set up. See, if I choose for my character to be a straight male, I'm not going to need the option for top surgery scars, now am I?
People are just going to go to Eastern Developers' games to get games without the modern agendas. The reality is this, the majority of gamers are not the "modern audience." If they were, specific games wouldn't have flamed out hard. Naughty Dog's trailer wouldn't have gotten flamed hard.
Western Game Studios are struggling. They can easily fix that if they choose to.
"Let us pick the sexual orientation of each NPC in the beginning of the game, during the set up."
I have also thought about this. You will be pleased to know that I will be implementing that aspect into my 2nd videogame >:D Feel free to follow development from my videogame Company's Twitter account: @WeavinWorkshop
Awesome!
That's a great idea! I get that devs want hard choices, but sometimes it feels impossible to explore everything without flipping the POV character or starting a new game.
Side note: consider adding a "matchmaker" option for all the NPCs who aren't the POV character's love interest. If you've gone monogamous, it could be fun to help them by being a wing-person. ;)
You ever have any luck finding a mod to make Suvi an option for male character? I saw some of your comments over at Nexus. We are on the same crusade my friend.
Unfortunately no. That would likely take somebody with a lot of talent, and a lot of equipment and programs to do. They would need to use some means to replicate Suvi's voice, and then create lines for her for Scott Ryder to romance her, and the same would possibly have to be done for Scott, unless you want to use the same dialogue he had with Cora. Their mouths would also need to move properly. Then, they would need to replace Cora's head with Suvi's, to do the physical side of the romance.
In other words, I don't think it will ever be made.
I think the best option is to find somebody to replace Cora's head with Suvi's and call it a day.
she made moaning sounds while riding with me in the car to see if jaal was sleeping or not
Cora - more masculine than Suvi. Lower, monotone voice. Fascinated with an all female race to the point she joined their Commandos. Only available as LI to Scott Ryder.
Suvi - prettier and more feminine than Cora. Higher, more feminine voice. Very devout Christian. Only available as LI to Sarah Ryder.
Make that make sense.
lol ya I read the bit on Suvi and I'm like...ya that's a walking contradiction. :D Should have been straight.
