Missing Online Access: Any way to ask for a CD Key or contact a Steam Support agent?
So, I'm having an issue with this game I jsut purchased here.

First things first: I used to have a EA Origin Acess membership for a month to try this game a few months ago. I didnt finish it and yet my savegames are still there; got my achievements back, etc. so good so far. However, I'm unable to play online or access online features here because of that same reason.

In a manner of speech, Origin believes I shouldnt have access to online because I don't have a membership, however I just purchased this game here which is nonsensical.

I contacted EA Live Chat support and a dude tried to deactivate and activate the game on my Origin account to get rid of the issue, but its not possible because of my Steam purchase (lol, what a mess).

There is 2 ways to get this sorted out, either I get a CD Key in order to add it into Origin once more as a "new" copy of the game (independent from the copy I had access to during my membership) or Steam grants me access - thats what the EA Live Support guy said: "Ask Steam to fix it on their end" but this is unlikely... They are just playing Hot Potato and I'm on the verg eof refunding even though I really wanted to give the game another shot.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same thing.

I have spent about 5 hours on it today, if you include the download times for all these fresh installations EA "support" keeps telling me to do. I have been told twice now, by EA, that it is in Steam's hands now. Steam has to grant us access... somehow. Supposedly. I don't even know how to reach out to Steam because when I tried I ended up on a page with all of Andromeda's information, like specs requirements and store page... No way to submit a ticket from there. Unless I'm blind, which is entirely possible given how numb my face has become from all this.

I'll keep trying to get in touch with Steam about it but if I can't get access to online components or multiplayer then the game's store page needs some sort of warning about this as it seems to be a common enough problem, given what I have read online so far. You're absolutely right, this is a completely nonsensical, silly, problem to be having.

If anything works out for me I'll let you know.

Thanks. On my part I subben into EA Play within Steam for a month to test if it would work as a makeshift solution. Once I try it I'll let you know.

The probabilities of Steam getting involved in this are pretty low, to the point EA support just encouraged me to refund the product, lol. Which I did, in the end.

im having same problem here, just bought EA play and now I cant log in online... Stupid EA

Yeah, seems like subscribing to EA Play here on steam wont fix it.

At this point I wonder if purchasing/subbing again in Origin would fix it but not sure if its worth the hassle.

I wrote to EA help desk and after that they send me to fix: I should contact steam support and they should help me.... guess im not gonna play this online..

Yeah they gave me the same half-assed reply. Steam will wipe its own ass as well regarding this matter. I mean, they even encouraged me to refund the product. They just dont want to commit to a solution, which is sad.

I'm having the exact same issue here. Contacted EA help, they gave me another copy, now I have 2 copies of MEA in my origin library, but I still can't play online.

If anyone has a working solution, please share.

This Issue still persists, does anyone have any updates?

Sadly there was nothing to be done, even EA when I contacted them told me to just refund it. Haven't tried if getting it for console "fixes" the issue but I just gave up with the broken product, any desire I had to play it, died.

I had this issue. I owned the game on Origin. I bought EA access from steam, so tried out MEA on steam among other games. Cancelled EA access a few weeks later and boom, no more online access for my Origin version. EA access unlocks the MP boosts, so maybe it caused an issue form the subscription cancellation ???? Not sure. Decided to stop using Origin completely and bought MEA on a steam sale, then it started working again.
