Game will not start with modern AMD GPU
Somehow almost nothing seems to work at EA anymore.
Got Battlefront on sale today. I have an AMD Radeon 7900XTX with Adrenalin 24.2.1, so everything is brand new and powerful. But Battlefront doesn't recognize the driver. Playing is not possible.
The error message is:
Detected AMD Readeon driver version 0.0.0. The required driver version is 15.5.1 (18.10.16) or later. Please update your drivers.

Great, another game that won't run. I'll wait another day, then refund.

Well, you just saved me some money because I have the same GPU and this seems to be another EA crappy PC port. Appreciate it.

I actually have a 7900xtx as well. Runs great. MY problem is audio drivers! Halfway through a match it'll crash and literally disable my audio driver, require a troubleshoot and restart. Problem seems fixed ( two successful matches) when turning audio settings to "Narrow" which is for lame tv speaker systems.

AMD Adrenaline reports driver 24.2.1.

I've got a 7800XT and am using driver 24.1.1. No issues with it set to use DX11 - I tried DX12 yesterday which was fine in single-player but crashed in multiplayer.

try reinstalling your driver and maybe even reinstalling directx. Windows is very picky sometimes...

I'll need more information. I just click the play button on the icon in the EA app and it works fine. Well. Fine for this game. Meaning half the time ti starts in a tiny window on the desktop then goes fullscreen when i click it.

So to clarify, I start Steam and EA app (and turn on controller). Then I click the play btuton in the EA app. Understand this is after enormous issues getting controllers to work, and consistent crashes over my 16 hrs played or whatever. No picnic.

Another possible avenue for research is BF2 shows up just fine in my Adrenaline software (AMD's spy/ad ware). If not in yours...

No, it doesn't matter if i start Battlefront 2 in Steam or EA App, graphic driver failure window pops up and that's it. My System is more or less new with 3 month old hardware und fresh Win 11. I refunded but i'm interested how to run it.

Well I built mine myself, a fully AMD system, but I only barely know enough to build it, couldn't really diagnose from a distance. And you wouldn't want me to help anyway, I still have a red blinking light on my motherboard :-)

But I would start by seeing what else manages or doesn't manage to identify the driver. Whether AMD's software adrenaline, or other games do etc.

I have a 7900XTX and it works fine for me but it hates undervolting and overclocking so I have to run stock.

bro got banned lmao

I'm playing with a 7900 XTX TUF OC just fine, no audio bugs, graphics at max with 1440P and DX11 no oc on my end or undervolt just stock settings, according to Adrenalin I'm hitting an average of 200 frames.
Driver: 24.1.1
Windows 11 23H2 22631.3296

It did not fix the crashing but at least my audio driver no longer breaks.
