not launching
so whats the deal with steam not launching the game and shifting it over to ea for ea not launching the game and then steam loading up again to not load the game, is anyone else having this issue, i bought it on steam a while ago and it worked fine now all the sudden, zip, it wont work, ive uninstalled, set it as administrator, done everything i can and it just wont launch, if any one knows a fix, please let me know.

I think it's a new bug. It happened to me today exactly as you described.

its not a bug. edit your config file, and turn off dx12. also repair the EA launcher

i would turn off dx12 but cant get into the game, repaired the ea launcher, and how and what should i edit my config file

its located in \Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings\ProfileOptions_profile

open that file in notepad or wordpad, there will be a line GstRender.EnableDx12 1
set it GstRender.EnableDx12 0 and save the file

unfortunately, i cant find it anywhere in the profileoptions_profile, i wonder if i can add the line to it and get it to work like that, like i said i cant find it anywhere in there.

Yep had it just now - first time playing the game. It loaded eventually, Just let it do its thing and the game eventually started up

It's not the game; the new EA Desktop App is trash because EVERY EA game had this issue and it will randomly occur whenever it feels like it. There is no guaranteed fix other than just launching in countless times until is gives

yeah that's what i had figured, but so far that's the only game that's doing this, all the others work fine, whats crazy though is my copy of battlefront 2 is through steam and not ea but for some reason, it has to go through ea apparently to start, which i think is a little dumb if you ask me, honestly never had this issue at all with origin, and i tried to re-download origin but when i start it up it automatically forces me to update to ea desktop app, which again is pretty dumb.

so heres an update, now none of my ea related games are working, even the ones that i bought from steam, that have to go through the ea desktop app wont work now, that includes mass effect legendary edition, kinda frustrated, never had an issue while using the origin app.

The only thing that can remedy this is going into Task Manager and just closing Desktop app in the processes section and keep trying it until it does something. I have reported it to EA Support and I received the same old copy + paste garbo
