Battlefront won't launch through Steam/EA on PC

When I try launching it on steam it loads in an empty EA window and for a moment it says that the game is launching. Shortly after it goes back to the Launch button as if the game didnt start at all and I'm back on the normal EA app window. Launching it through EA didnt work either. Having EA closed while launching BF2 on Steam didn't and the same goes when steam is closed while launching it through EA.


Anyone encountered the same issue with a possible solution? I'm seriously out of ideas haha

I'm having the same issue. Unfortunately I don't have a solution. I opened the EA app separately and it needed me to sign in but that didn't fix anything. I hope they haven't killed the game...

Same issue. Asked Steam to refund the purchase. No reply yet. (I purchsed it only recently and just have 7 hours of game-time)

You have to link your steam account to your EA account. If you don't have an account with EA, just quickly make one, where you can then go to the actual website and link your steam account from there (the EA app somewhy doesn't let you do it). Once you do that, it will detect that you have the game under steam and let you play. It's tedious, and I had to figure it out yesterday when I launched it for the first time, but it beats getting EA play.

If you have trouble doing this, message me or something. Same with anyone else having this problem. I don't mind taking the minute.

I've had the game for two years, with my accounts linked, and just now it's stopped launching from Steam, so I don't think linkage is the issue. Unlinked and relinked just to be sure and it has not launched.

I've had the game for two years, with my accounts linked, and just now it's stopped launching from Steam, so I don't think linkage is the issue. Unlinked and relinked just to be sure and it has not launched.

That is weird... Do you think it could be some type of bug then? Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the game, see if that helps

Used to be like that, now it doesn't launch at all. Not helpful.

Just seemed to fix it. I logged back into my EA account through the Steam option then immediately restarted my computer. Came back to Steam, launched the game, and it worked great. Hope this helps.

how did you log in to your ea acc through steam?

Try launching the game through Frosty Mod Manager (No Mods) and see if it works. I had the same issue with PvZ GW2 not launching and apparently I just launched it through Frosty Mod Manager without mods and it worked like a charm
