ive been having the same issue some people say frost manager/ frost fix works but nothing apparently works. Best thing to do is forget this game ever existed since ea hates it and wants more people to play battlefield because that all they care about. Its sad that no one really comes up with a answer to fix the problem and nothing that ea tech support says doesnt help. If you just got the game and have less than 2hrs of gametime id refund it.

I am Japanese and I wonder if there are people around the world having the same problem with this game not starting up?

I had similar issues, except the "grant permission" part. I'd press play, EA would open, then close. What worked for me is i simply launch from EA app, not steam. Hope this helps.

Is it better to refund the steam purchase and buy it in the EA app?

Is there anyone who was able to start after buying the EA version?

yes definitely. sometimes EA app gets changed by EA which causes some issues for launching - i know this because it happens to effect linux a lot more often. saying that it wasn't launching for a couple of weeks but as of about 5 days I can now launch it on linux using proton experimental after proton was patched to adjust to changes in the ea app. if you're using windows, sounds like there hasn't been a fix yet.

I don't know what Proton experimental and Linux are, what should I do?

For the time being, should I refund the steam version and purchase it with EA?

I'm using a translation site, so the sentences may be strange

I found a solution to this problem. BF2 does not work on steam, it only works on the EA app so either buy it there or get ea play/pro then go to the file that the game is saved on the exe file is battlefrontii right click it and go to properties and run as administrator apply and save then launch it exit the game and repair the game files using the EA app. Then launch it once again and the game will finally work. I dont know why steam has a problem with this game. PLZ give me lots of awards:steamthumbsup:

Will I be able to play the game without repairing the EA app before launching it every time?

How do I repair the game in the EA app?

I double-clicked "starwarsbattlefrontii" in the folder, but it just opened the EA app library and didn't start it.
