Also, the single player content is not limited to the story campaign. Almost all of the modes can be played with AI. There's two types to this AI. First is through arcade mode, where the bots are client-side. You can play these modes while offline. Then there's instant action and co-op, where you basically play online and if there are no human opponents, the servers will seed AI opponents for you to play with.
The only mode that you won't experience without other human players is Hero vs Villains. There are no bots in that mode.
Its a battlefield type of game so don't expect amazing gameplay in solo mode or "really good story" either. Its a generic Star Wars story as it can get, a plot of story they purposely made up just to fit the new casts into the Star Wars universe that has no real connection to the real Star Wars story at all.
I'm not 100% sure if it's legit 32vs32 (maybe the servers are cheating and just loading players that are in your vicinity), but the aim is to simulate the massive battles expected from the Battlefield franchise.
But the bots do recognize simple mission goals like capture the flag, and it uses vehicles. You can check out this video to see how it looks like on Geonosis (it's the map that works best to show how many players there are, because there's more open areas):

90% of my playtime is offline with these mods I've mentioned. There a ton of fun to play around with if you get them working.
