Long/Infinite Load Screens? Nvidia GPU? Install driver version 512.95
As the title suggests, there's been a lot of posts lately about an ongoing (and very infuriating) issue whereby players encounter extremely long or even infinite loading screens when launching the game or loading between matches.

As some users pointed out in several other posts, it seems that rolling back your (Nvidia) graphics driver to version 512.95 may resolve the problem as it did for me as well as for others who also experienced this problem.

Everyone, there were discussions about this earlier. It's some issue with the latest NVIDIA drivers. Installing version 512.95 of the graphics card driver fixes the problem for now. Use this link https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us and select "DCH" for driver type if on Windows.

Unfortunately, I don't think this fixed my issue. I do have long loading times, but whenever I am loading, the game also takes 100% of my CPU for some reason. It's very strange. It didn't used to do this, and I'm unsure how video drivers would affect my CPU... Maybe I have a different problem? I dunno. No matter what drives I install, it maxes my CPU, so I'm too afraid to keep trying, without thinking the game is a genuine risk to my PC's health. Hopefully, they can either fix this somehow, or someone has a different fix for my situation.

Have you tried checking for any background processes that might be adding to the CPU usage? What are your system specs?

I have. It is 100% Battlefront causing the CPU spike. It goes up to a few thousand MB's, until my CPU is absolutely maxed.

Specs:

Geforce RTX 3070.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

That is really bizarre then, you're definitely well equipped to run the game. Do you run the game with DirectX 12 enabled or not? Are you also using mods?

Have you also tried clearing your Nvidia Shader Cache? That is also known to cause performance issues. To do so, go to:

Local Disk (C:) > Users > (name) > AppData > Local > Temp > NVIDIA Corporation > NV_Cache

Then delete the content of that folder. Make sure Origin and the game itself are not running.

I am not running X12. Oddly enough, I don't have a folder in that given directory, nor any folder under the name of NVIDIA. However, I did recently clean the Shader Cache through Disk Cleanup, which I believe serves the same purpose, so maybe that's why I don't see the folder?

Edit: I wanted to let it be known that I also have no mods, and my game runs flawlessly for the most part, but whenever I am loading the game up, or it is loading a new level, CPU will spike to 100, and cause terrible loading times. Sometimes, it'll never load. That's my main issue. Performance itself is unaffected.

That would likely explain the missing folder(s) then.

I am not sure what else to suggest for the time being, unfortunately. I hope that you do find a solution. If you do, post it here and I will edit it into to the initial post as an alternative suggestion! :steamhappy:

Will do. If this IS a driver issue, hopefully, a future update will fix it. I am missing the game so much.

just updated nvidia to 516 and it blasted right through the load screen in the normal long amount of time it used to take before it took infinite time.
