I'm having trouble learning the maps
Before every game it gives you the name of the map. I know a few of them by now: Hoth is the open snow map, Geonosis is the rocky desert map, Felucia is the swampy village one but the others I never know until I get in there. It also doesn't help that some of the names have multiple maps attributed to them, such as Kamino or Starkiller base. I just want to learn what each map is ahead of time so I can make an educated choice on my starting class.

Can anyone share some descriptions of each planet map so I can reference them when the loading screen shows up? The jungle ones are especially difficult for me to differentiate, I just can't tell them apart yet.

You have a >10 second window at the start of every match to make a decision. Isn't that enough?

I don't think you understand the point of my thread. I'll try to clarify what I mean better.

The match timer is not my complaint; my complaint is that I am taking longer than I would like to learn the maps. I find myself thinking "oh this is the wide open map, I should be specialist" only to find out that its a hilly jungle with poor visibility. Not a good environment to bring a long scope sniper rifle but an SMG blaster thrives here. Do you see what I am getting at now?

I want to feel more informed when picking my starting class at the beginnimg of the game so when the word "Kashyyk" shows up at the top I know what that map looks like and know what class to be at the start.

Heavy on every map except Hoth, specialist on Hoth.

I understand your point. But you'll automatically learn that just by playing more. Plus, like I wrote, you have enough time to pick a class when the match starts. You have the cutscene that shows the map and you have the static screen of the spawning area. What do you need more?

Go to the pause screen while waiting, it tells you the specific map

"Learn", this isnt quake. Most people who play this do it just for fun, reenacting their favorite star wars moments, thats it. just drop in and enjoy. I pick class in random.

officer + heavy blaster is op lol
But just go get killed/suicide [it's not a big deal] to pick the proper class you want. I personally know all the Republic era supremacy maps cause its mostly all I play. Kamino means pick weapons that are good at range.
