do you have to ea play in order to play online?

I was wondering the game is diffcult to load at times. when i was able to run it said that i was offline so that is why i was wondering if i did or not.

No, it doesn't require anything other than owning the base game and an Origin account. The connection failed thing is a bug that has remained since the servers got overloaded with free players from Epic.

so i can only play offline because the servers are overloaded with people? that sucks. i do have the steam game just not the origin one. that was also another thing i was confused about if you needed both or not.

You just have to spam-click the "connect" button until it takes you back online, it's not a bug that completely locks you out of online play, just a technical UI bug. I have to do it every time I want to play, just a minor inconvenience. If you bought the game on Steam you don't need it on Origin, it will just ask you for an account on Origin. That's all.

I'm not a fan of two separate launchers just to play one game, but it is what it is, and it tells you everything you need to know on the game's Steam store page as well.

No you dont need EA Play.

just go to in game options then ea account and switch the ping site to default..you will find games

TRY A DNS FLUSH ITS WHAT I DID

cmd prompt (as admin) ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter then close the prompt then restart pc...now it connects right away... (mind the space between ipconfig and the slash)
