How is the AI? Singleplayer

With multiplayer numbers low, I would be more interested in playing custom matches against the AI. I love games like Ravenfield, that are exclusively built around large scale singleplayer battles. Are the AI in this game smart and fun to play with / against?

Depends what is your threshold for smart. I think they are decent and pretty fun to play against. They do seem to cheat a little bit. AI heroes have extra health and force pushing or pulling infantry won't always stop them from landing shots on you.

Why do you think the multiplayer is dead? BF2 is in the Topsellers right now on Steam and there are many players on the Battlefront.
If you are in Europe or NA you will find many players in the multiplayer.

In arcade the AI is broken and barely functions, in instant action co op they just rush you like a zombies mode, and in instant action supremacy they work good enough but you still see them jumping at walls or getting stuck in holes.

A campaign

Arcade with team death match, and starfighter death match

Instant action with supremacy (conquest) and Co op which is basically a horde mode.
