When you launch the game, it'll boot up Origin in the background and finally start the game up from there.
If you already own it, you can instead just add the Origin version as a non-Steam game on Steam. It's effectively the same thing.
For me not is same thing. Not couting hours and the screenshot not is same save like the own game(can sceen shoot too i know) and not in library. Also the origin need launch it manually because not is linked and no cards dropped. Is less comfortable.
1. Screenshots (community feel with friends)
2. Cards and badges
3. Simply have it in Steam library
While this doesn't appeal to everyone, it does so for some Steam users. Especially those that do not own the game at all.
