The Pinball mini game
Hey there. I enjoyed the game so far but anyone has found a way to just cheat your way out of this godawful mini game ?

It baffles me how this just doesn't work on so many levels and the dev were just "yeah it's fine to put this without any option to skip."
I swear to god these devs definitely need to learn that if something doesn't work and sucks you just don't put it in the game. Like most 2D sections too.

Ya that was my thinking the gutter balls were causing the losses and if you lucked out/figured out the right trajectories earlier your chances were much higher of winning first try.
I wouldn't go so far as to call it luck based, I'd just say it's a combination of bad ball physics, bad table design, and the minimum score needed to win being too high. If just one of these had been polished, this part wouldn't have so many people complaining. My problem when I played it wasn't that it was hard or unfair, it was just that it dragged on for far longer than it needed to.

What are you all whinning about lol? I beat it on first try without dying on hard. Guess you should have all played Sonic Spinball first:sans:

See the game itself is fine; Plays well and your multiplier increases fast and high emough-
Heck part of me wants to see it added to arcade mode but the fact that you have to bounce the ball up and through the door it is what drove me crazy.

Having to finagle a pinball in a precise location to progress is what put me off of playing sonic spinball ever again

I did as well, but the problem is whether you die at all is only really based on RNG with the bottom game-out rails. So the fact we did it first try was also RNG, not skill.

Wish they made a proper Casino level.

I would love casino open zone for the sequel.

My issue is that the ball keeps randomly bouncing off the back of the triangle shaped bumpers and bouncing down the side holes. And for those who say it isnt RNG and you just have to be good, how the hell am I supposed to be good when it bounces between the two bumpers above the triangle ones for a bit then seems like its gonna go down the chute to my flippers then just bounces off the back of the triangle bumper and ends up going down the side chute instead? What am I supposed to do about that?! There is no way to account for that or even prevent it.

They definitely should add one if nothing more than for variety, they could add it as an Eggman tech zone since all there is is the few and far between Eggman Habitats.

I went into that pinball mini-game expecting the worst, especially given the horror stories I've heard about it from others including you guys, but oddly enough, it only took me a couple of tries to beat.

If there's any advice I can give, it's that you absolutely should be going for the red rings early on if you can to increase your score multiplier, but don't just go for every single one - if you have a really good multiplier (x64 or x128) but the red ring is in a tricky to reach or dangerous spot, don't try to go for it; just let the regular rings and bumpers score big for you. Don't get greedy, lest you risk draining the ball through the outside lanes and having your multiplier reset to x1.

I just beat it, came up to it and went "oh no, I hate the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ casino levels"
Then they made me play sonic spinball for a half hour. I hate sonic spinball, and pinball in general. Genuinely the worst part of the game so far, and it isn't even close. Wouldn't have even been that bad if the score required wasn't so stupidly high.

I actually played a bunch of Sonic Spinball before this. Got to it, after having heard horror stories; had a lot of fun before I realized the score goal was so far; lost twice; then went fishing for a while to bring myself back in a calm mood before winning one try later.

I'm curious, does moving the analog stick influence the trajectory at all? When I held it in the opposite direction from the gutters, the ball seemed to not fall in. Might just be my imagination though.

There is an option to skip. Unofficial one, using glitch, that is used by speedrunners.

- Just before talking to Tails to enter the minigame, go down until you see a pulley and a crate next to it. Break the crate, you don't have to pick up the seed.
- Run to Tails. Avoid getting launched into tricks. Speak to him.
- If everything went correctly, you will see autosave when the door opens.
- Skip enough cutscenes to start playing the pinball.
- Return to main menu, load autosave.
- During loading, hold the left stick down and slightly left (7 on a clock), keep holding when you see a cutscene with a door.
- When you see fade to black - double jump and air boost to go as far as you can. Still keep holding the stick, of course, try to launch yourself as far as you can.
- The minigame will start after cutscenes. If everything went correctly - Sonic will die offscreen after few seconds. If he won't - reload the autosave and try again.
- Kill yourself by jumping into the pit twice.

Congratulations. You just skipped pinball and went straight to the Titan.

I'm replying a little late, but this is is really excellent. Knowing that both open-world games and Sonic games have crazy speedrun scenes I'm excited to see what else develops from them in the future.

If you didn't know there is a glitched called the Hedgehog Space Program that gets you unbelievable height which can bypass some invisible walls or allow you to skip some platforming challenges.

The problem with pinball is that it requires such a high score combined with the fact that the multiplier completely resets if you lose a ball, as someone already suggested if the multiplier didn't reset completely then pinball wouldn't be much of a problem.

There are also mods like the Super Sonic mod that gives you Super Sonics Boost,
what i used to get out of bounds and explore the cut/unfinished islands/areas.
