Also it's possible to unlock the frame rate with the hedgemod manager but it causes issues, which is probably why they omitted it.

Not to mention, a lot of games from the PS2/XBOX/GameCube era, including all the Sonic games on those systems (except Heroes and Shadow on PS2), ran at 60 as well. 30FPS was only a standard during the PS1/N64 era because that was the best those systems could do at the time due to the more primitive 3D capabilities.
I'm willing to give the Switch version of Sonic Frontiers a free pass for running at 30FPS as that was released on a weaker handheld and doesn't have the same specs as the other platforms, and if you ask me, it's a miracle that it runs the way it does at all.
