While there is a bit of jank in some areas and the pop-in can be horrendous at times, the game itself is still quite enjoyable for what it is even now. Even the story had actual heart put into it and felt like a genuine effort to expand on the world of Sonic instead of just being there like it is in many of the other games in the series (or in the case of all the 2010's games, poorly written).
Also consider giving the Final Horizon DLC a try after beating the main story, though be warned as it is much harder than anything from the base game.
Cause after 3 Free Updates that added some things, edited others, and added an entire second ending, its worth replaying if you havent seen all that.
Its very much a new Unleashed/SA1. Where the following games have and will be using this as a base.
is better then Mario oddesey or any other nintendo open world game
Seriously, mod this game.
I initially thought and said I really enjoyed it, which I did, but the game falls off rather quickly.
The game doesn't really have any real content or even difficulty, just constant running around jumping towards those memory token and solving baby made puzzles. It was fun at first, but doing FOUR worlds of pretty much identical content grew rather tiring..
The music was amazing though.
