Should I really level up to level 98 with 97 cocoa

Every upgrade just costs 1 koko for no reason and im confused

What's your difficulty setting? I've seen that it takes 12 Koco to level Speed/Ring capacity levels up a single level on Normal Difficulty and 15 Koco to level said stats on Hard difficulty.

Also, are you sure you're not mixing the Koco with the Stat Seeds?
