LOL Denuvo
Putting Denuvo on this is a joke and a waste of money.

how did you claim that?

Excerpt or "tl;dr" of Denuvo costs according to Crytek documents, released by Egregor:

€140 000 for the first 12 months of "protection", €126 000 before March 31, 2021;

€2 000 for every month after the initial 12 months;

€60 000 extra fee for products that receive over 500 000 unique activations in 30 days;

€0,40 per unique activation on WeGame platform;

€10 000 extra fee for each storefront (digital distribution service) the product gets put on.

that's in 2020

theses prices are nothing and so cheap for a big company like SEGA compared how benefit you will get with that money.

Denuvo sucks and wont stop piracy but will actually encourage crackers to crack it. piracy is a problem due to affordability as many people will buy a game they can pay for whilst a $60 game sure is pretty affordable considering how much games cost, it isn't affordable to many people which results in those wanting to play the games causing demand for a game and case in point a reason for piracy. there is really no other way then meeting a certain expectation to defeat piracy. so security measures such as denuvo are pointless and affect the game and the users which is not ever a good sign especially when they have paid for a premium experience.

then why you don't leave your door open?

Do you know you can open all door luck under 3-5 min without a key?

"but will actually encourage crackers to crack it."

that why it exists because steam DRM is easy to patch it unlike Denovo when you need to crack it or abuse glitch
uhm i dont think you read it properly. if something is so secure. that encourages hackers to crack it because it presents a challenge which security researchers like to test. these exploits can be used in 1 of 2 ways either they report it or use it to provide for their community. its usually the 2nd option. people do this as there is demand. so the analogy of why dont you leave your door open is quite invalid as that could be counter argued in the sense that you have the mightiest lock on that door what stops anybody from just destroying that lock? they will do what they want and theres nothing to stop that.

Idiots thinking denuvo does anything other then tank performance when they never ♥♥♥♥♥ about the refund system just shows you how stupid they are lol.
Btw every game that has denuvo ends up being a pile of ♥♥♥♥ anyway so you know...

Technically it just needs to work for the first few weeks or month of sales, bulk of the orders and potential loss from piracy is the first month.

You want to know how to get good sales at launch?
Make a good game! If people enjoy the game and give it positive reviews, other people are more likely to buy that particular product just like they did. Otherwise, people are likely to turn towards other products that they're likely to enjoy even more instead, and I myself have quite a few other games on my Steam wishlist I'm interested in if this ends up not being all that great in the end.

Elden Ring sold over 12 million copies across all platforms within the first 18 days, and that game didn't even have any DRM outside of the Steam launcher itself.

That but also marketing your game is just as important.
There could be so many brilliant indie games out there that we're simply not aware of because they don't have the budget to strongly advertise their game.

Maxray we see you like Denuvo. You can stop defending it

also, you guys didn't hear that some devs increase the price tag in Turkey and Argentina because so many people abuse them?

Denuvo is mad to protect their stuff from abusers, like how you close your door to protect your house from theft.
I'm from Turkey but i will definitely buy this game. There are some good people here too.

My point is always people will suffer because of some abusers.

Did I say that?
It's like I can assume you like piracy? According the same logic.

And even if you made over the notch game even with good advertising still people will pirate it because it's free and they don't care about people who actually made it.

You can't fix thefts but you can put camera and locks.

Which doesn't happen nearly as often as you might think, especially in the age of digital distribution where it's really easy to buy stuff legitimately online and thus isn't nearly as much of a problem as it used to be. I mean, why should I go out of my way to obtain it via illegal means when it's actually much easier for me to buy it through Steam, GOG or other storefronts?

Maybe it would make sense back in the 80's or 90's where games had to be shipped on external storage media like CDs, cartridges or floppy discs and so limited supply can become an issue, but not in 2022 where Steam exists where buying games is just a click away.

Not to mention I can use Elden Ring once again to prove my point - that game got a lot of marketing and is well known by many, yet the game still sold really well with over 12 million copies sold in its first 18 days and it didn't even have any external DRM in place whatsoever, which kind of tells me DRM doesn't really do all that much in terms of sales.

And besides, most people that don't spend money on a game never had any interest in it anyway. They'll just simply turn their attention to other products that interest them more, which is probably what I'll be doing with Sonic Frontiers depending on how things go with its release - there's plenty of other games that might grab my interest instead.

Yeah, like there's no Turkish language support in any new game, they increase their pricings etc. Frontiers is 700 Turkish lira in my country.
