Humour is subjective and some people just so happen to have a sense of humour when it comes to dirty jokes, and I guess it because the topic of sex is a whole different can of worms compared to the more common human needs.

...So they shouldn't disable it then because you just suggested that tags should be curated by the developers. At the very least, I think it should be disabled for users to assign tags on games that have not been released yet because, well, obviously we can't accurately describe them yet.

While you say that users may troll with it, I know for a damn well sure that not every developer/publisher would even care to use it and I rather not have their games' discovery being hindered because you want to disallow users from using the tag system because of some dumbass minority.

I think the best way would be to allow the publishers to decided who can add tags.

Basically give the publishers option to
-Allow everyone to post tags (current system)
-Allow everyone to post tags but requires publishers approval before they appear.
-Allow only those who have the game to post tags
-Allow only those who have the game to post tags but requires publishers approval before they appear.
-Allow only those who have a certain amount of playtime to post tags
-Allow only those who have a certain amount of playtime to post tags but requires publishers approval before they appear.
-Only publishers can apply tags
