I don't think FOUC is as known or popular as FO2, though, even in the Flatout fanbase
UC is so much better lol
Multiplayer is barely working for the community from what I read on the discussions, graphics are subjective, and the chaos feels equal to me I don't understand that particular critique? Knocking 2's music is moreso a jab in general because I thunk FOUC's music is garbage too, but both games OSTs can easily be modded. I did a destruction derby 2 ost for FOUC, I'll probably do one for FO2 as well.
What would probably win me over back to 2 is if textures are easier to mod. All I'm trying to do is make the Bonecracker a Death Proof paint job, you wouldnt believe what a pain in the ass it is for FOUC, for one little dds file edit
Having somewhat functional multiplayer trumps not having one at all. I haven't had any issues with it.
I agree about graphics and music being subjective, but it seems pretty clear to me what the community prefers. Personally, i felt that the drab brown filter was a significant downgrade from the original's vibrant and colorful aesthetic and was certainly a product of its time that has aged poorly.
The soundtrack went from having famous bangers to a bunch of unknowns that were nowhere near as good. (And it was still missing 'Beat the Boys' from part one, dammit.)
Dunno what "simplified physics" people are talking about. Feels literally the same to me. PCgamingwiki doesn't mention anything about it being the case, either. Played both games at 100 FPS (default max FPS cap).
The graphics in the original is worse (subjectively ofc).
Music for UC you can just mod in. There's a mod for that.
There's no controller button prompts in the original game (though controller does work with a different from UC layout).
FOV in general and especially during nitro in the OG one is overkill and just bleh.
UC has achievements.
Multiplayer idgaf about.
Thanks, I choose UC.
Me either. It is the same. I guess from a community level FO2 wins, but I choose the so called underdog. Plus, no Bonecracker in FO2, instant lose for me
additionally: Just tried to make a custom OST for FO2 and it refuses to work, and insists on giving me all of the issues in the world, where it is dead simple to do it for this one. So thats an additional oof for me
Try driving on Desert Oil Field on both games (preferably with Street Class), you'll very easily notice a huge difference.
UC still has functional multiplayer (because GFWL itself still works), it is just hard to get into, especially with the keys running out and the game being updated to a GFWL-less version, requiring people to go through a lot of hoops.
Anyway to answer the OP, until recently, UC was just harder to get into on PC due to Games For Windows Live. That's pretty much the whole reason the game was avoided by most people on PC.
Ah yes, when I think bad music I instantly think Audioslave, Rob Zombie and Megadeth. Right my fellow zoomers?
lol if you're going to defend a band, don't pick Rob
What else can you name off? Pop rock emo trash? Well, anyways in the end it comes down to tastes, and I quite clearly don't like what litters the FO2/UC soundtracks. So what. Get bent about it if you want to, but I'm going to have the same opinion either way
