Mods?
I have two mod related questions:
1. How do I swap engine sounds? Half the muscle cars, at least in Derby class, sound like tuners.
2. How do I edit the skins?

I know this quite a old Discussion, but it needed to be answered...

You can swap engine sounds only if you have a program that can pack and unpack .bfs files. Here is what you need: https://www.sendspace.com/file/r5g2qk Once you download that, go to this file location.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FlatOut Ultimate Carnage

You should see a "data.bfs" file (Make a backup of that file!), open up the .zip file you just downloaded and run "BFS3pack_smart_gui.exe". A little white window that has a ghost on it should now appear. Right click on it and make sure its set for Ultimate Carnage. If everything checks out, drag the aforementioned "data.bfs" file into the window. Another small window should pop up, confirm the location of where you want the files to be dumped and wait.

After a while, another folder called "data" should have appeared. That has most of everything that the game consists of, like textures and sounds.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FlatOut Ultimate Carnage\data\sound\engine

I haven't swapped the engine sounds around quite yet, but I have changed the backfiring sound of 2 specific cars, and it works fine.

Every car goes by numbers. Here is every car in the game and their corresponding numbers:

car_1 = CTR
car_2 = Chili
car_3 = Boxer
car_4 = Lancea
car_5 = Mad Rash
car_6 = Malice
car_7 = Fortune
car_8 = Banger
car_9 = SparrowHawk
car_10 = Insetta
car_11 = Sunray
car_12 = Vexter XS
car_13 = Shaker
car_14 = Splitter
car_15 = Terrator
car_16 = Bullet
car_17 = SwitchBlade
car_18 = Venom
car_19 = Nevada
car_20 = Blaster XL
car_21 = Crusader
car_22 = Canyon
car_23 = Roamer
car_24 = Lentus
car_25 = Road King
car_26 = Ventura
car_27 = CTR Sport
car_28 = Chili Pepper
car_29 = Bullet GT
car_30 = Scorpion
car_31 = Insetta Sport
car_32 = Speedshifter
car_33 = Daytana
car_34 = Speedevil
car_35 = Trailblazer
car_36 = Afterburner
car_37 = Rocket
car_38 = Starflight
car_39 = Nucleon
car_40 = Pimpster
car_41 = Flatmobile
car_42 = Mob Car
car_43 = Schoolbus
car_44 = Rocket
car_45 = Truck
car_46 = Grinder
car_47 = Bonecracker

Knowing that, this is how you change the sound of cars:

Say I want the sound from car 14 (the Splitter) to replace car 22 (the Canyon), I would have to take the 7 sound files from the Splitter, copy those to the desktop, rename them so they have "car22", and replace the Canyons sound files in the sound folder. Bam, the Canyon should sound like the Splitter now. You can do the same thing with the backfire sounds as well, but you just have to replace 1 file.

Once your done with the sounds, repack the edited files into a new "data.bfs" file and replace the old "data.bfs" file.

Now as for texture editing, it seems its impossible to do as of now (unless we are completely forgetting something). Me and my mate have been trying to figure it out though, so maybe there is some hope in this matter after all. Basically what happens is the game refuses to load custom textures, and it still keeps the vanilla textures that we just replaced. My mate had some success changing the color of reflections on cars, but that is about it.

Hope I helped you. I'm not too good at laying out instructions... :B1:

However i am having a hard time to find how to edit the AI's names at their in-game small left bottom corner logo, would u tell me where or which should i edit so i could change the AIs names?I dont intend to change their files or settings, i just intend to replace their character faces TGA images and the names that shows up when ur in contact with them.
Because i am making custom AIs.
Thank you!
