Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Who is doing the PC port?
QLOC did a horrible job with Kiwami 2 in my opinion as it still has a BUNCH of PC specific issues, do we know who is handling the port this time?

I think Dragon engine as a whole was a mess. I know very few people who managed to get 60 fps and that was with everything on low ( unless ofc they had top tier hardware)
Horrible job with Kiwami 2? I played about 100 hours of it and never encountered any issues, what are you talking about?
Kiwami 2 port was good tho. No problem on my side.

For you "no problem" could be sub 40 fps with drops to 20 for all I know or you could have a god tier rig.
Mid to high tier rig here, 1060 6gb i7 4770k and I regurarly had dips to 40 on kiwami 2 and no amount of tweaks to the graphics settings changed anything. It's probably a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port. Just look at the RE engine and the games they got so far, looks beautiful and runs beautiful on any system or doom eternal for that matter.

I personally think it's Denuvo causing the issue but whatever.

I had 980TI and i7 4790k for the first 30 hours and had zero fps problems. Not a god tier rig, but good enough for most games. So maybe the problem is just on your end.

Same as you Poroner, similar setup and had 40 fps. Yakuza 7 seems to have less requirements but if my gaming experience taught me anything is that system requirements claimed by developers dont mean anything. It all depends on how well the game is optimised.

The engine used in Kiwami 2 is GPU heavy. So it does not matter which CPU you have (for most parts) and considering you are not mentioning it, we can not come to any conclusion if your PC was able to run it properly, or not.
I had no problems with kiwami 2,ran it on high at 60 fps 90% of the time. The other 10% was at 50 fps. And my pc is not that good, i5 6600 non k, 16 gb ram and a 970
I played Kiwami 2 day one on my old laptop (i7-7700HQ + 1060 3GB + 16gb) with All High setting and got stability nearly 60fps at 1080p all the time so i think Dragon Engine optimitzation is not that bad.

I have a 1060 6gb and Ryzen 2600x and ran Kiwami 2 consistently at 60 for an entire playthrough (not just main game, beating Amon).

So you don't need a "god tier rig" to run it properly.

Performance wasn't the only problem though, some minigames were impossible to beat unless you capped them at 30fps. The first mini-game of Toylets is a perfect example, I don't think it can be beaten..... or maybe it can, but 30fps makes it WAY easier.
Kiwami 2 ran on my potato gtx 650 ti boost and core 2 quad Q9550 at an almost stable 720p 30fps on high settings. Lowering the options barely helped so I just kept it at high instead. I expected worse tbh.
