How do I know what an active ability costs?
While out of combat, the MP number in the hero tooltip is your ability cost. You want this number to be low. While in combat, this number represents your current MP.

How fast does MP generate?
1 per 0.1 seconds. Effects which increase MP generation activate every second, and are not directly tied to your base MP generation rate.

What are the caps on Speed and Ability Cost?
The cap on Speed is 0.5s, and 5sec on the top end (yes this can happen). There is animation time preventing you from attacking faster than this. The cap on Ability Cost is 10 (for balance reasons).

How does Defense work?
There is a formula to the damage reduction which works out to gaining 1% effective HP per 1 DEF against non-piercing damage; so a mix of DEF and HP works best for tanks, unless there are other synergies involved. This works out to 100 DEF reducing non-piercing damage taken by 50%. The formula is the same one used in LoL/TFT for those familiar.

How does Shield work?
Shield will absorb non-piercing damage, and can't exceed your Max HP in size. Piercing damage also includes damage over time effects.

Do status effects stack?
Yes, but they maintain their own source, value, and duration. Some effects are limited to a certain amount of stacks on a target (see their tooltip), but most are unlimited.

What does "weakest ally" mean?
These effects refer to the ally with the least HP percentage wise.

How much Disarm/Stun/Silence can a boss take?
The time of the effects are reduced by half. After spending 4 seconds total of being under one of these effects, they become immune to all three effects. Having multiple of the effects at the same time does not make the boss become immune quicker.

Do effects which make you deal damage to extra targets apply effects triggered by 'Attacks'?
No.

Do effects which trigger from 'Attacks' trigger when you hit with an active ability?
No.

Do effects which trigger from 'Attackers' trigger when hit by an active ability?
No.

What order do 'start of combat' effects resolve in?
Item > Hero > Enemy. Start of combat item effects will resolve in the most beneficial order possible in relation to each other - items which grant buffs resolve before items which deal damage, for example.

What are the colors in the battle log?
The colors represent what types of damage you are dealing, and how much of it makes up your overall damage. You can also hover over the bar in-game to see the below.
    Damage Dealt/Damage Taken
  • White - Raw regular attack damage.
  • Blue - Raw passive or active ability damage.
  • Yellow - Item damage.
  • Orange - Burn damage.
  • Purple - Poison damage.
  • Red - Bleed damage.

    Damage Taken
  • Pale Purple - Doom damage.

    Damage Healed
  • Green - Healing performed (does not include over healing).
  • Light Blue - Shields given (does not include over shielding).

How does the Cleric's passive ability deal damage?
It will trigger off any heal the Cleric is the source of which actually heals missing HP. This includes each tick of a healing over time effect like Brain Sage, and duplicated heals from Maiden's Mirror. If the Cleric applies Leech with Necrophage, the source of the heal becomes the hero attacking, so only the Cleric's attacks will trigger in that instance (as long as they are missing HP).

Do the summons from Ranger, Illusionist, and Pack Medallion act different to normal heroes?
They are just like normal heroes with a few exceptions. They do not benefit from the initial stat blessing (Temperance etc.), you do not lose Morale when they are defeated, and the Warlock cannot reap their soul.

What makes a hero gain levels?
You first have to beat the game once and unlock Corruptions. When beating a Corruption difficulty, each hero in the party whose level is below the Corruption level will gain experience. Heroes who gain experience will always complete the level they are on, and will gain 10% bonus experience for each additional level they are below the Corruption level. Each active Omen also adds 25% experience, but a hero's level is still capped at the current Corruption level.

What is the use of hero levels?
As hero levels increase, a unique glow will appear behind them and become brighter. The first 55 hero levels you gain also unlocks new items and a new hero. Heroes don't gain bonus stats when they level up.

Why have you stolen item art from other games?
I haven't. Many of the item sprites have been supplied by open source (free use) projects. Although not a requirement, I have given credit to every artist whose name I could find involved with the sprites. The rest of the art in the game is my own original work.
