Is the ending satisfactory?
As someone who hasn't played the game yet, can someone tell me (and without spoilers please)... does the game end on a cliffhanger of sorts? or does it provide a good enough, satisfactory ending?

Idk the end game sequence was epic but story wise, feels kinda unfinished or to word it better not wrapped up smoothly.

It seemed like they were leaving room for a sequel which hopefully arrives someday.

There's no cliffhanger but TBH the story is just plain meh.

I know story isn't exactly the main selling point and I'll still play it but a bit begrudgingly lol
Unfinished story which may or may not be completed kinda irk me

Just finished it. This is clearly an unfinished story, written to sell a cliffhanger that will never come (or if it will, it will not be this game's sequel, as nobody is interested at such a poorly written story...I dare the devs to make a sequel to this, expecting people to follow, seriously. Even if the game were a critical triumph with tons of sales, it's obvious such a scenario would never continue, no matter the open ending, it's a born dead baby. I took pleasure following it, even if it was one more story about "good and cool looking kids against the evil and cheap 1984 government, and adults, and authority, riots in levis jeans is the ultimate solution, blah, blah, blah", as any mediocre juvenile book or ad targeting such audience, with no reason to believe in the characters and their (re)actions if you think for just more than a few seconds and make the terrible mistake to connect your brain. This is unfinished as hell. "Open ending" as they say. Unfinished to force a sequel which will never be, and shouldn't by the way, if you ask me. Mediocre from the M to the E, even if pleasant to follow.

The first one had the GREAT, if not the IMMENSE advantage to stay very simple, kind hearted, and to keep the talking to a minimum ; it was an enjoyable tale - and a COMPLETED one. The second Mirro's Edge looks like "Mirror's Edge the movie - the game - awkwardly written as any video game adaptation, yet enjoyable".

Otherwise, the game is a pure joy to play, to watch, to lose yourself into. A gem, as the first one. Not as perfect as the previous Mirror's Edge, but compensates his faults with tons of qualities, a new physic and feeling, a gameplay way smoother, easier to master, a more quick and agile Faith. The open world feature, very well implemented. The city looks alive. Tons of stuff to love, really. This is something very similar yet very different, an experience that does not replace or copy the first one, but complete it. An extreme enjoyment from the first to (almost) the last minute. The ending is clearly the worse part of a very mediocre scenario. I don't want to lie to you about this, but HELL, even if I understand how much it might make you hesitate, please do not. Buy and play.

Please apologize my english.

IMO the ending is as good as the rest of the story, which is to say, mediocre.

The confrontation between Faith and Cat is uninspired, both acting like spoiled brats, especially Cat. Upon discovering her own sister is alive after all these years she has nothing but hatred for her, and barely spares her life.

Also, the last mission in the shard is mostly a huge cutscene, with interaction with the environment done mostly with the hook, Faith being able to pull herself up enormous distances, distances that if you tried in the main city you would always fall to the streets below for sure. It's feels like the game is rushing you up the Shard. Climbing up the monster fans is cool though

Well that was disappointing. The finale got less anti-climatic the further you climbed up. You just end up zipping up the last part like spider-man for the final moments with the parkour element being dropped entirely. No epic boss battle and no real ending. The only thing I got out of the final cut scene was how powerful faith's kung fu abilities were in third person and how she completely humiliates her opponent.

Something strikingly absent from this game is the lack of seeing other npc runners actually running the original game had opponents with parkour abilities at least.
I still like the game just expected a far more interesting finale.

I just finished the game. Ending was not as cliff-hangeryyy as people said it would be IMO but oh well.. the finale set pieces were at least very pretty :LIS_pixel_heart:

There are a lot of questions that were ostensibly left open for a sequel. I actually like the story (for the most part) but these cliffhangers were quite annoying.

i actually thought that the ending was pretty good, it was unpredictable, because predictably; Kate would've turned on to her sisters side, but she didnt which really surprised me. It also really surprised me that it was a sad ending, there being some-what of a cliff hanger also surprised me.

They really tried hard to make the final level as epic as possible, but in the end it's probably the worst mission in terms of gameplay.

But hey, ending scene was quite interesting and not obvious. I don't think it was bad at all, Faith was not going to save the world yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They were obviously leaving off for a cliffhanger which probably won't happen. If there's another Mirror's Edge at this point it will probably be another reboot. Ultimately still a very good game.

You're overly harsh on Catalyst and have rose-tinted glasses for the original. Catalyst's writing definitely has flaws but not to the degree you're making it out to be. You're making it sound like the Star Wars sequels.
