Otherwise you need to create png file with a size from 64*64.
If possible in circle form.
I used gimp to create a few (crop picture, then resize with a transparent background)
You can start with one of those already present and change it.
edit: I made it, 80 portraits of Age of Wonders.
I'd like to share it with the public on Nexus but I contacted Triumph Studios to see if it's ok with them.
Just drop a picture in there and it will turn it into a nice circular token

And the drag mechanic should stay into degenerate Macintosh territory.
To select a portrait use the menu on the right side of the screen.
Portrait Options & Change Portrait Image.
You, also, have to select the file type...'png' for this purpose.
It works, but requires some knowledge that I eventually figured out.
The advantage of this one is you don't have to be on the internet to use it.
I will add, the default ring is not practical (imho)...change it via the Overlay Options.
So I discovered that my little entreprise is null and void since one of the pack got all portraits images from AoW. lol
