what is folded edition
This is extremely confusing to me what is the difference between paper beast, paper beast folded edition, and folded edition with vr upgrade

The original Paper Beast is VR-only.

Folded Edition is a flat monitor version that was released later.

The Folded Edition VR Upgrade is to unlock the VR version if you bought Folded Edition. Folded Edition ($17) + VR Upgrade ($3) = original Paper Beast ($20)
