"Rememberance"side quest (in Underworld campaign) bug?

Hi all!

So I think I have encountered an unusual bug in Sacred Gold - or is it really an unusual bug since I know that the game is full of bugs anyway.

I wanted to complete "Rememberance" on the Pirate Island. I escorted the person to the place, killed everything, the game nicely spawned the special creature that I needed to kill to complete the quest. But even tho I killed the monster, the person whom I'm escorting doesn't stop and reward me. So it is basically like I didn't do my task and destroy the monster. So he keeps following me around - surely he enjoys my and my wolf's company.

Already done the followings:
- Reloaded my save file, the game respawned the monster, killed it, still the same problem.
- Tried to leave the area to let the game respawn creatures, the monster appeared again but still nothing.
- Googled the problem but seems like people never reported this bug before. I checked a quest guide too, maybe I missed something but no.
- Tried to sabotage the plan and let the person die but he just passes out so I can't even make the quest fail.
- If this matters at all, no, I didn't complete "Riddle in the Desert" quest during the Ancaria campaign.

Does anyone know anything about this bug? How to complete the quest?

Hahahaha, lol, this was funny! Thanks for the laugh. I feel bad for you. I wish I could remember that quest better so I could help you, but I can't.

I've had a lot of side quests fail over the years. It's usually because the game expects things to get done in a very specific way, and if that's not how it went, the game won't recognize it as completed. I don't suppose you've kept any old saves from before you took the quest?
