Game becomes unplayable if i alt-tab out and back in again.

If i alt tab out and go back in, the game becomes unplayable because whenever i move my mouse more than a centimeter at a time the game freezes. this doesnt happen every time but it is seriously frustrating. it also happens if i change from fullscreen to non fullscreen and doesnt fix when i turn it back. its so bloody annoying, ive messed with graphics settings to try to stop it but nothing works
