How to "parry" with the knuckleblaster?

Funny title I knowwww but it's a genuine question.
I see people turn stray projectiles around using it but I can't seem to figure it out myself.

Except useless because it takes a full second before the explosion comes out. Which makes it even worse because that can't deal with melee attacks nor does it heal your stamina and health. Blast deserves a buff.

You can actually kill a Mindflayer if you time the blast right when it shoots the projectiles.

As with any explosive. The knuckleblaster will be the hardest due to how slow it is compared to that of a pboost or rocket.

That's not a parry though. You can break the shield even during the cooldown between attacks.
