ULTRAKILL
why is there so many different perspectives on the new update?
a lot of people seem to dislike it or enjoy it but then there's a lot of mixed thoughts, i don't really see the huge deal on why this is somehow causing some sort of small dilemma in some parts of the community.

its good but glitchy/rushed. people have to go on either extremes because well... can't say that on steam forums...

I think beside a few others preferring the simpler graphics, the main discourse is definitely regarding the optimization of the game on ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hardware. As the other comment mentioned, there are some bugs affection some people as well.

I didn't experience any of these things, but I feel confident that the newblood team/hak will address the issues in a somewhat reasonable timeframe. In other news, the encore levels are incredible (for the most part) and the visual changes are also stunning.

true one bug i have noticed was half of p2 was missing the upper half was just gone
I am pretty sure a lot of those people being mad are just "baiting" the issue is that is bad bait.

then there's some minor bugs like the eyeball at the top of the beginning of the climax of gluttony sometimes falls and sometimes wont it is supposed to open up a tunnel that goes right to Gabriel but i can only seem to get it to work with the nailgun sometimes by overloading a few magnets waiting for them to blow up and then see if it falls

other than that most bugs ive seen seem like they should be quick fixes
due to being from what it looks like to just be graphical errors

I've already said plenty but from I've gathered its somewhere between "disagreement between some of the fanbase and the developers with the new look" "performance issues in an update that was supposed to be about improving performance" "weird one off/unexpected bugs" and yeah the whole alienating a entire chunk of your playerbase by making it totally unplayable on their hardware suddenly.

From what I remember hearing/trying, it should be openable with the alt nailguns? Or do you mean it'll fall and just not open up the hole?

the update has increased the visual quality while preserving the artstyle, doubled my FPS, and the new encore levels are amazing. So, in my eyes atleast, it is great. Though from what i have seen most of the people with performance issues either have really really really bad systems (like, not even minimum required specs), or use linux which, for some reason, suffers with this update

No, Patrick. Just because a game is low-poly it doesn't mean it's going to run perfectly on a laptop.
Steam discussion posts are just 95% people getting angry that's just the way it works

because every game with a fanbase as big and rabid always has this opinion split into:
-People who don't like it
-People who like it
-cockgobbler cultists that will claim that it's the best thing ever regardless of how objectively ♥♥♥♥ something is

I'm really surprised i'm not seeing a massive flood of the 3rd one, however.

Im probably gonna be the cockgobbler here. I've been hungry for content for a while and I definitely enjoyed most of the changes and the new additions, even if some of them werent expected or needed. Definitely the best update for the game so far in my opinion.

Steam Forums have definitely been a place where I see so many contradicting opinions. More so than any other place on the internet. A handfull of it is definitely ragebait and pointfarming (Awards did severe and irreparable damage to discussions) but who knows. People are bound to have opinions anyways, even if you dont agree or like that opinion, and even if its dumb or misinformed.
