What a genius development strategy

"we'll make the game with low, easy to run graphics, focus on the gameplay and level design, and then when we're at the finish line... We'll bait and switch the art style and graphical fidelity right before and alienate our playerbase that really appreciated they could play such a cool and action packed game on their low powered hardware. Under the guise of "making the art style congruous"."

I was a huge Ultrakill fan and supporter, but this update really has shaken my faith in the developers.

And before you call me poor or need a better PC, I have a great PC, a fantastic PC. But sometimes I'm on the go and want to play some Ultrakill on my laptop that only has integrated CPU graphics, and now I feel like I'm totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of due to no fault of my own; if I wanted to be totally uncharitable I'd argue it'd be grounds to negotiate a refund if some players just CANNOT play the game now due to the sudden hike up in performance demands.

EDIT: I didnt want to alter the OP but, this thread is NOT about ME having performance issues, this thread is about questioning the nature of this update and the effects its caused to players on the lower end of PC hardware, especially those that have been long time supporters of the project who are now left behind.

I specified that I have a PC that runs the game just fine even post update, but apparently there is still a lot of hang up on this.

Yeah like, I have NO issues at all running Tarkov on mid range settings, I can play Helldivers 2 on max; my PC is perfectly fine. Its my dork ass linux laptop that I'm talking about, and also somewhat on the behalf of those that do not have the means that I do and work with less than I do.

The update came out TODAY, you can't expect them to get all bugs fixed right away, wait a week or so and pretty much everything will get fixed.

Let's remember that
1. not everyone can fork over a lot of money for a new setup
2. early access does not make you exempt from feedback, even if it's negative

Honestly, I think the old graphics should be a toggle for performance, so that everyone isn't seething over this.

So there goal was to bring everything up to the graphical standard of Layer 7, Layer 7 didn't receive any changes for that reason.

So my question is to the people who think the devs "betrayed" them. How were you planning on beating Layer 7 and the eventual layer 8 if your game can't run at this graphical standard? Even if they didn't remaster the game layer 7 would still be unplayable if your pc is simply that bad.

And let's say you already know that and simply want to play layers 1-6 as you please. Fair enough, you know you can just download an old build through the steam console right?

You know they confirmed they're taking feedback and are planning to release a followup to this update, right? Surely you did actually bother to read the details and inform yourself about the subject you've chosen to argue over, right?
