I still don't understand Minos Prime
I have P-ranked all the (currently out) levels on Violent, besides the Prime bosses.

I still don't understand how Minos Prime works. I get that there's audio queues where he announces his next attack sometimes. I read people talking about how to dodge each one but I only had mild success.

I think the problem is that I don't even understand what the attacks even do, so of course I can't even begin to figure out how to dodge them properly. Other bosses and enemies in the game give you some hint as to how their attacks work, its a gun or some projectile they shoot or whatever, but with Minos I can't understand what the attacks do for the most part.

My understanding so far and what makes no sense to me:
  1. So you have the "CRUSH!" attack where he's in the air and then he crashes to a surface. Now you'd think this is an attack where the damage is take from him crushing you to the surface (wall or floor or whatever) no? Well sometimes I take damage from this attack even though I'm farther away? What? This problem is exacerbated because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ teleports all the time and he's always outside your field of view so I can't properly see what this attack does. After it there's a shockwave which is super easy to dodge most of the time, I can usually jump over it.
  2. Sometimes he comes up and kicks you. There's also some snakes. I haven't managed to parry it but I've read that you can? Anyway it's super annoying because I can't see him during this and I also don't have time to visually track him, but usually these aren't too hard to dodge if you move enough.
  3. Then there's the flying orange snake. These work like a projectile pretty much, you can parry them too. This I understand.
  4. Sometimes it feels like he combos attacks but its too fast and too outside my field of view to understand how these work. It also hinders my ability to understand how the individual attacks work so I can't start to understand the attacks one by one.

Randomly trying stuff has gotten me to almost beat him a couple times but mostly relying on high damage strategies and trying really hard to heal all the time, but because I feel like I have no feedback as to what I'm supposed to do, what works and what doesn't and why stuff does or doesn't work, it's just not very fun, even though I think it really could be like the rest of this game.

1. damage is around a radius, time the dodge right and you'll avoid it - increase your fov to something a bit higher and learn to keep your eyes peeled on him, and learn the telegraphs so you know what to expect
2. you can parry if theres a yellow glint or glow around the attack, i dont bother with parrying minos as much as sisyphus
3. -
4. what difficulty are you on?
have you slept enough? are you warmed up? eaten healthy? taken a walk or jogged? stretched?
if you cant properly keep track then you need more practice and probably should warm up and sleep enough

minos isn't really that hard nowadays, he's a very chill boss when you get to know his movements

practicing him is the key, like with many things in life you cant expect mastery or even being good at something until you've failed at it first and been bad at it
there's no shame in just taking it slow
there's no need to shoot him, you can just do your best to observe what he does and start applying strategies later on

If you really want help Try reading the strategies part of him in the terminals and also practice with him in the sandbox. i practiced with V2 in sandbox after i used major assist's and then after i learned about him it really helped with me p-ranking 1-4 when i was trying to beat v2 for my first time in 1-4 i tried to use the classic strat of punching coins and that failed. same thing with gabe. i used major assist on him and then i got better and well s-ranekd him but still its a better rank than D rank with major assist on. (i am trying to get to both prime sanctums)

you don't need to see him, you can just listen for each attack, but if you for whatever reason need to know where he is use the screwdriver it emits a sound

I guess my issue is that I didn't need to do any sandbox practice with any other parts of the game. I just humbly failed again and again but tried over and over and I was logically able to figure out how to counter each attack one by one until I was able to P-rank, but Minos Prime just threw me off completely and I don't know where to start.

1. Ok I so it's a timing issue how sometimes I'm able to avoid damage and other times not. It just wasn't really obvious to me that's all.
2. I hadn't even noticed the yellow glint so far, I'll look for it, if i can manage to see him while he kicks me lol. Again that's a dodge-able attack so im not too worried unless im low on health
4. I originally tried on Violent but now i've reduced to Standard. sleep is for the weak lol.

I mean of course he isn't hard if you understand his movements. I've just had trouble getting to that point and don't know how to proceed.

of course I can't expect mastery from no practice. that's why i had so much fun my first week of owning the game, clocking in like 60 hours iirc. also why ive reached 130 hours today. this boss was just entirely non-obvious to me compared to the rest of the game, specifically on what exactly to practice to get better and that caught me off guard and i genuinely started believe I was simply missing something.
