ULTRAKILL
how to fight the hideous mass?
I got ultra kill yesterday for part of the humble bundle "boomer shooters" bundle and im stuck on the hideous mass boss fight. I only have the shotgun, nailgun, and revolver and they're all fully upgraded. (also im really bad at using the coin if you're wanting me to use it)

you aim for the red spot or the tail
or if you wanna skip all of it on the easy/blue skull side on the first room on your right not foward if you go up where the flamethrower guys are there is soap
you must then press f to pick up the soap and throw it at the hideos mass

what is coin punching? I've never heard of it
You... punch coins. Its in the name bro. Walk back, rmb, wait, press F. Or walk forward press f after rmb if you want. Its the same as punching anything else except coins bounce when punched into things. V V2 this hurt him in his intro for some reason.
How could you forget the only reliable technique of look all down while in the air at any velocity then punch when ready lol

Didn't think of that, gonna pirate your technique

I dont think im fast enough to pull that off yet

Nvmind pirated it this is much slower than doing it on the floor and no more reliable

It lets you keep your momentum and is about the same speed if you get your coin timing down. The only downside is that it makes coin punching much harder but even then you can see tracers for a moment and you're meant to shoot it with another coin anyway.

You lost me. How does it make coin punching harder, yet its "the only reliable technique" and also how is it the same speed?
I walk back for less than second, press rmb, wait for stupid glow, punch. Maybe I walk forward before punch; same time either way. Absolutely 100% reliable. Fast.
V
I jump then wait to be going down and its already slower than the grounded method at this point anything beyond this has already lost to being on the floor.
Its also super easy in the air, you don't even have to move or anything, you just aim directly down, press rmb, then f. That's it.

I meant followups, coin punch then dash to the enemy who got hit by the coin. But that's not how you're meant to use it anyway since it's meant to be a damage boost and an instant split for the next coin that you're neabt to shoot.

Also, you're meant to throw the coin while going up. They keep your momentum like I already said, and this coin punch can be done practically anywhere as long as you or your coin don't get blown somewhere else in the short time it takes to punch.

If anything it's quicker than anything else since it can be done stress free. It's all rythem and you take much less to no damage because you're moving at the same pace of your coin.

Recording from neutral, hitting exactly as the coin first *pings* so you can punch it and add momentum, it takes 5 seconds to punch all 4 coins on the floor and 6 by jumping up while aiming down.
Unless I'm missing something its just obectively faster to do it on the floor unless you are already falling.
As a followup it would be faster since coins naturally bounce but also is not what I was talking about when answering the guy regardless. He asked what coin punching is, not what double punching a coin is. Really not sure why that's what you were talking about.
How stressful the act is is irrelevant to the speed.
I think what you meant is its more reliable in more situations since you can just throw down any time in the air and so long as you maintain the same momentum and timing it will always work (same as shooting a bullet directly above you, except while moving).
Its just saying its the 'only' reliable way is an extreme take. Its the most versatile way.

you get used to the game over time and thats about it
What i like to do is try my best to stay on the hideous mass and keep shooting it. If it does the tail move i just punch the tail and keep shooting. Oh and if your bad at coin shooting try shooting a coin directly above you its the easiest way.
Overheat nailgun right into its juicy intestines. Also coins. Coins are always at least a high factor in the solution to most problems

You can fairly easily beat almost every boss with a high ranking by just sliding away and repeatedly spamming slab laser and railguns into bosses, yea. Even works on the Gabriel fight people whine about. 99% of what he does literally can't hit you if you just run away, coin momentum follows you, the timing is the same every time, you don't need to aim for him directly and it chunks like 40% of his life per slab.
