How to reliably kill brutal sisyphus?
The first phase is hardly a problem to me, but in the second the passively exploding balls he spawns aren't loud or visible enough for me to react to, plus after some time he just ends up attacking ludicrously quick, as if there's some hidden timer that gives sisyphus infinite stamina.

I have only ever killed him deathless on flukes, making P-ranking this level a nightmare.

Brutal phase 2 seemingly removes his taunts, gives him infinite stamina like when P-2 launched, and adds explosions to "Begone" and "You can't escape" that you must either dash through or outspeed. They are generated even if the attacks are parried, but are worth trying to parry since you get solid damage from it and all it takes is one dash->slide->jump to get high speed.

When he starts mixing you and you lose too much health and stamina to spend any more on gambling, start running away. With rocket jumps and slide hops you can outpace both his stationary and predictive explosions. You need to stay low to the ground so you can slide/rocketjump on a dime to keep pace with him while otherwise being choosy with what you dash through rather than evade.

Screwdriver makes it easier to stay topped off and complex railcoins are absurdly hard to hit due to his RNG so you aren't even losing that much damage over a 2-coin blue rail; poke him with a drill whenever it has recharged. Alt shotgun hitstop makes it trivial to land since you can swap to it and fire while you're still in frozen time.

Red nailgun works very well against him when you AREN'T running away at top speed since it does decent low-effort damage and has strong healing. The cable helps telegraph where he teleports since his targeted stomp has no unique audio cue and the cable yelling at you for being out of range serves as one of its own.

It's safe to get damage in on him when he's doing "You can't escape" or "This will hurt" as those have him moving predictably for extended periods of time. Between his other moves, it can be worth throwing out Feedbacker punches on reaction since his kick and "Begone" have parry windows on windup. "Destroy" isn't worth trying to parry outside of flair since you need to move in very specific ways to be eligible for the parry without him Michael Jackson tilting away from you as you close in on him, since he throws the explosion where you're moving, not where you are.

Slab Piercer charge shots, SRS Cannon, magnets on the ground for saws or on Sisyphus himself for nails are all good options for comfort since you only need to aim them for an instant and can focus exclusively on moving and occasionally punching.

If you just want the P rank, don't try to kill him quickly; you have a huge amount of time to meet S-rank par. That goes for that blasted double mindflayer room, too. Similar principles apply, they're just somewhat more consistent here.

I also really need help with brutal Sisyphus. I can reliably deathless him on standard, violent is a struggle, but on brutal, I can't even beat him. I spent 20 minutes dying to him before giving up. Any help would be appreciated.
Any bosses require patient. I stuck more with second phase gabriel on 6-2 (and 7-1. Minotaur is ugh, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ acid platforms).

You just sucked at those bosses, everyone has a boss they have a hurdle with the first time. The difference is they are predictable and consistent, but specifically only sisyphus on brutal in his second phase requires too much luck to always kill him.
I've tried quite a few times, I know all his attacks and what I need to do, but his explosions are neigh invisible and are huge. I want to properly beat him, not just on a rare fluke.

Trial and error. P-2 was rng before and now with random explosions it’s even more rng.

i once saw a video about it, you have to stack coins and after hes done talking, walk back, and hit him with the force of 1000 suns (but seriously its just, standing still, dodging and parrying him A L O T)

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I'm parrying and dodging every chance I get but the balls may as well be completely invisible in phase 2 and by the time I'm in the air he's already doing a ridiculous combo even once I slam down to the floor. Cheesing him wouldn't be very fun either.

I suppose a fluke is the only way I could do this.

to be fair the fight IS rng, the best possible outcome, he tries to "This will hurt" u too much, worst possible outcome he "destroy"'s u way too much, and the added bonus that (was it the be gone attack) now also throws that kind of explosion, it just becomes luck, you could try (in my experience) to set saws and move around them and also using the railcannon with the screwdriver to heal + do more dmg with the next parry, and also shotgun him with the green version

Never knew it wasn't completely random when he silently throws that orb, but he loves spamming "be gone" at least to me, how fun!

they should add a sound queue but i think the sparkling is a big indicator, anyways, the same thing, parry (the platypus) him to death, chainsaw floor, and pray (also try to always jump and move to the sides after a parry, it worked for me at least)
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yes because winning = fun, no in between

Slowing down and not grappling helped me a lot. Screwdriver and saw traps are great ways to get HP in the second phase though you kind of have to skill solution in between the cooldowns.

Keeping high speed also lets you dodge his attacks easier; the explode attack / any teleportation attack can be easily dodged by going fast and then dashing to remove your momentum when he attacks (the attacks predict based on current velocity), though if he stacks these attacks, then you just have to pray.

edit: I still cant get him consistent anyway. I think his second phase is overtuned
edit 2: I skill solutioned
