ULTRAKILL

Level Editor
So I've been wanting to make my own Ultrakill levels for a while and I've heard of two editors. Tundra and Rude, I know Tundra is the official and you have to like sign up to be a tester or something? If that is true where can I sign up / is it still open for testers. And if that isn't then how would I go about getting rude.

Tundra access is *super* closed and it requires you to gain merit through even something like the Rude editor. It's rare for people to get into Tundra with candidates being invited once every month or two.

However, Rude requirements are way more lax, and you can gain access to that by asking around on the New Blood Discord Server, for which you'll have to apply with anything that shows commitment or prior experience regarding levelmaking, such as:
-sandbox saves
-maps made in other engines
-a grasp on Unity ProBuilder and its features
the level editor is closed, and i despise that fact. it's such a stupid idiotic idea, with absolutely no reason behind it. MAYBE it's for quality control, but there are atleast a hundred other, far superior ways.

So you can't even get into the babymode editor without proving you made maps for other games? No wonder this has so few custom maps lmao.
Extremely unbased move.
If its unity it shouldn't even be hard to use either, making maps in unity is super easy

there is envy and spite, which is free to use (but is pretty hard to make levels in, i've heard)

It isn't now. There is a great tutorial on youtube documenting everything in about half an hour, straight to the point with everything. Will fetch if asked to.

Been sort of there for Envy and Spite since it first released, Spite is a cool editor and simple to set up but I havent used it since before Doomah transfered resposibilities of development to Simon and some other dudes, so I need to check in and see how much better it actually got.

its not just other games. you just have to prove you arent a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and know how to make a basic level layout while using blender and or unity. and you dont even have to use pro builder or blender. someone built a layout with a quake editor and imported it into unity and they got access. and as others said, theres spite/vanity, which is quite literally the babymode editor and can even get you access to rude iirc.

Fair enough. But I personally thought it made the editor pretty bearable. I hardly ever needed to go back after watching it and paying attention once.

extremely old reply i know but what's wrong with that?

the community is very small and noone wants to teach someone the basics of unity from the ground up, which would inconvenience everyone involved as though learning how ultrakill's scripts work isnt a hassle itself. At least show that you aren't trying to dip your toes into levelmaking and give up at the start, because then you'd be making the person that invited you look bad and waste everyone's time.
