ULTRAKILL
Is there a way to go even faster?
I am a glutton for speed, and I have not beaten the game or unlocked everything just yet. Is there an upgrade later on in the game to move even faster?

Sliding is faster than walking, and jumping with the speed from a dash is faster than sliding. Rocketjumping is probably faster than that, using the boost from a shotgun grenade or pump backfire.

Speedruns for this seem to be a whole lot of clipping out of the map (not what i was looking for). The shotgun boost is a neat trick though.

You can use the alt shotgun shot to boost yourself.

Yes indeed, i was too busy enjoying the fact that i can punch the shots to notice at first but then i looked at a few speedruns of the early levels (Don't wanna spoil anything for myself) plus it was mentioned. ty for the reply though!

slide-jumping is most of it. You can move hella fast, and continue to move hella fast, by chaining a dash-jump into slide-jumps with good timing.

One thing worth noting here is that dash and slide jumps maintain your momentum, but dashing does *not*. Dashing by itself will set your real velocity to zero, accelerate you along its path, then return it to zero. (Adjusted for any buttons you're holding at the time.) So paradoxically, normal dashes are antithetical to going fast sustainably. But very good for changing direction quickly.

If you start your slide on the edge of an upwards incline, you can throw yourself through the air at high speeds.

Additionally - though this is gonna sound like a "no ♥♥♥♥" thing but hear me out - ground-pound to get to the ground faster. Sliding is faster than running, so the faster you're back on the ground the sooner you can go back to dashing.

As a sidenote: people, use your slides like your dashes against bosses. A ton of the videos and streamers I watch don't take advantage of the mobility sliding gives you. To clarify, sliding immediately boosts your speed and it works based on the direction you're walking. With this, you can slide, walk, and then slide in the opposite direction with no issue. Its a low tier dash and an excellent course-correcter. Really helps give you that extra bounce against bosses and it lets you be a lot more lenient with your dashes/ground-pounds.

Wait, do people actually not do the sidenote? you can slide around a bunch of bosses and dodge most of their attacks pretty easily by doing that.

About half and half, but enough to be noteworthy. Mostly reviewers and the odd streamers I've watched don't use it, but most anything with high level play has it in use.

For example: Cheese swordsmachine.
If you're low on stamina, have 1 bar only?
Just slide and then use that dash at the last moment, rather than a dash, left without stamina, and get hit.

Idk is anyone has found this out but if you jump at the very end of your slide you can do a very fast and high jump. The timing seems to be only a few frames and you can time it with the clink sound at the end of your slide. Haven't completely got it down yet but it seems very useful.
