The criticisms of Day 1 Layer 7
Okay, basically everyone is saying:
-this layer hard and/or too long
-this layer dont feel right
-7-4 bossfight sucks(changed to be easier but still lame)
-guttertank new worst enemy(less annoying to heal from now :D)
-wow this is laggy(performance improvements added)

do yall agree/disagree with these, im curious now

I had lots of fun on this layer, I can tell Hakita really stepped it up with the encounter design :)

A few of these criticisms are nothing burgers. its act 3 layer 7, it better be getting harder finally.. outside of P-ranks and super bosses the game the game was kinda easy... as for it not feeling right... like... elaborate, lmfao... thats a nothing burger. my major criticism is more that once again, ultrakill has dropped 4 more levels, and ive beaten them all in one sitting, leaving me with a game that once again, feels like glacial drip feed.... 4 new levels, no new secret level, no new weapon, c'mon bro... this game has been in development for like basically 4 years now and it's just over 50% complete.... at this rate ultrakill will finally be a completed product in 2027... it's just too slow for a game with such low graphical specs. it's literally just like 6 more levels, a few more guns, and a secret level, but they're drawing it out a ♥♥♥♥ ton.
nothing feeling right was due to level and enemy design being so different from other layers but i actually thought the level design was really cool. idk why people are saying these things without elaboration, ive just listed down the ones i heard around thrice or more

i mostly agree, but 7-2 honestly felt kinda odd. other than the tower falling and having the mannequins and soldiers, and the train section, there arent really any easy to kill enemies in 7-2, as in stuff like stray and filth. Actually we don't see filth at all. The level mostly consisted of guttertanks and guttermen which felt kind of repetitive once a guttertank and gutterman spawned after you go back to the "im gonna need a bigger boom" area with the bomb and than have to fight those. other than that though id say the whole layer has been really cool with the encounters.

bout the lag another thing that can be added towards that is cybergrind result screen for some odd reason it lags the game out BADLY (i assume everyone has this problem considering i myself didn't lag before the update and after it all went bonkers)

-I quite like the step up in challenge myself, it felt like my first 6-2 p rank all over again. I feel like people are too quick to dismiss the option of tuning difficulty down to learn how to deal with it before going back up. There's nothing wrong with that! Especially with how stupid fast the new mannequins are.

-I actually liked how jarringly off this layer felt. No breakcore drums, a stark aesthetic, and even open/maze level design. It was super refreshing for being so different and it quite worked for me.

-The core is annoying but it super easy to quick kill if you use certain weapons together and parry the projectile. Consistent one cycle. That said if you don't do that the core is kinda ass lol. The 7-4 level itself is SO cool and fun, and the music is fantastic imo.

-They do feel kind of obnoxious compared to guttermen. There are quick kill methods like the magnet rocket ride return to sender instakill, but I appreciate that it will likely be adjusted all the same. The fact you can parry the mines for a free health refill is awesome though

-7-3's last two arenas and the last arena of 7-4 are pretty catastrophically laggy for me yeah. It's playable but it doesn't feel pleasant. Hopefully this can be fixed cause I quite like how insane these arenas are for enemy density.

i like your response! i also like the juxtaposition with how the layer felt. melancholy all over. i do feel like it is still a big difficulty jump compared to the last 2 layers though. I LOVE the 7-4 level design, the attention to detail is insane. the ultrakill twitter recently posted a wip guttertank change with a parriable attack as well as a small stun animation after their swing, which hopefully makes them much easier to heal from. i do think they can fix the lag for 7-3 but my god idk how the hell they are going to optimise 7-4 as much. its just a giant ass... thing that has to be visible at all times. i have faith they can reduce it enough for lower end devices though. didnt experience any noticeable lag as my pc is way past the games recommended requirement.

Personally this has definitely been my favourite layer so far, but it has felt different for sure. I can understand why somebody wouldn't like it, and a few things have definitely felt off to me, like the guttertanks feel way too easy to me. maybe it's just because I hop around a lot but the guttertanks never really feel like a threat whereas every time I see a gutterman I focus fire on him right away.

my opinion has change don gutter tank i still think its punch is a bit fast, but this enemy inst meant to be fought close range like gutter man, its fun when you learn how to fight it but really sucks when first playing (also probably lower its health but not as bad). but the final boss still kinda sucks but apart form that this is a pretty good layer just like really hard with some difficult navigation

it is fun! just hard. i feel like the only way to counter the difficulty spike in layer 7 is to just lower the difficulty, which fair enough, thats the point of them. i highly doubt youll have trouble with the game on easier difficulties. idk what you mean by grinding though, there isnt anything to really grind for other than even harder levels(prime sanctums) and the only grind i found about ultrakill is just completing the levels.

The best layer at the moment. Only the bossfight is something strange, but it's better than a repeat of what we already have. And yes, it's very laggy.
I mean, i left untrakill for 8 mouth or so, and when violence drop, i got my ass so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ plumed... i mean, i never retry the levels after do it once, to get better score, but my first runs are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible, on normal, D on each level, exept 7-3 B, and i could have a better score on 7-4 if i didn't try to kill the security system without fighting it... (i ♥♥♥♥ it up anyway after 20 minute of tryes lol)
Ultrakill is a really short game so I'm actually glad that these levels are longer, and tbf there were already levels that took more time than normal before. About the difficulty, I think it's is definitely harder than the levels before, but with time, people will get better at dealing with the new enemies. And I didn't hear a single criticism about 7-4 so idk why people were complaining.
