How does the "Fishing Score" system in 5-S work

How does the fishing score work?
Im trying to grind it and my high score went from 20529 to 20536
Does anyone know how it works?

so in 5-S, once you catch all the fish and go to the ending room, theres this leaderboard on a wall, and on the "friends" leaderboard theres these numbers next to the size leaderboard

i think that's placing, like how you place in cybergrind. thing is it doesn't matter, bc it's correlated to size

thats what i thought when i saw it at least
