Both variant's alt fire deal the same damage as a normal shot, so 2.5 for slab and 1.0 for normal, however both gain the same amount of damage (i think 1) on ricochet, which means that the normal gains a higher portion of damage per ricochet than the slab. Also, the smart ricochet on the normal will target headshots, which brings its base damage to 2 against enemies that can be headshot from a given angle. Add the fact that they have equal projectile blocking capabilities and the normal regens 3x as fast, i would say the normal is much better

the piercing is what makes the alternate better for me. I think the alternate allows infinite pierce after ricochet, but the normal sharpshooter pierce much less. I haven't tested much on it so i might be wrong but i use it for bosses like flesh prison or sisyphus, it even allows for near instakill insurrectionist setup with coins.

More damage but 1 charge is really meh but tbh i do think the slab is really good than the default cuz dmg
