Fraud is probably going to be very dark, maybe with some psychological horror thrown in. Kinda like 0-S but toned down.
I'm not expecting Treachery to be anything like Gluttony or Heresy in terms of tone. I wouldn't even be surprised if the opening section of 9-1 has no music or ambient noise. 6-1 felt like an action packed climax, whereas I'm expecting 9-1 to be extremely off-putting and give off a feeling of dread, rather than feeling like an epic final battle. After all, we know damn well that this game isn't going to have a happy ending.
AND MEMES WILL KEEP IT ALIVE
MODDING IS ALREADY A THING
gabriel is fought and finally killed in 9-2, and V1 is able to collect his swords to use as weapons (this is the yellow arm seen in the terminal). the "finale" chapter is in fact heaven which perhaps V1 could access via gabriel somehow.
hakita named dusk as one of his favourite weapons of all time, a game which features prominent melee combat featuring swords in its third act. i have a feeling ultrakill will do something similar
having read up on the divine comedy a bit tho (i read the wikipedia page actually) i think it'd make more sense if there was a purgatory level first, considering it's how dante gets into heaven, although if it did happen id rather it just be one level per layer, we have a lot of content already and i dont want hakita and his team to work themselves to death, maybe as dlc later down the road (so long as it's not required for the story or smthn) or a hypothetical sequel but just going from hell to heaven with no in-between seems a little silly, especially considering the story reason ur in hell in the first place (the hell expaditions, v1 looking for blood, etc)
other than just not making sense in universe, it's also not rly necessary aside from being cool/neat, which hakita does partake in doing but only on a smaller scale (e.g. punching bullets out of ur gun to make them faster and go boom) rather than story stuff, which is usually quite cohesive and tightly knit. maybe as a non-canon story but for ultrakill itself i just doubt it's happening
