ULTRAKILL

Does anyone else feel as if streetcleaners need their weaknesses reworked?
Out of curiosity, I made a google doc where I compiled every single weapon and weapon variant, their primary fires and alt fires, including the arms, seeing how well they fared against a streetcleaner.

By far, and I mean BY FAR, the best way to deal with a streetcleaner is with the coin ricoshot instakill. Everything else either gets deflected/dodged, is way too slow, or is complete overkill.

I understand ULTRAKILL relies on enemies having varied weaknesses and strengths so that you have to change your weapons frequently. I like that, but even then, I feel as if it's better for enemies to have two or three pretty good counters, instead of one extremely powerful counter.

saw traps and knuckleblaster mess them up as functional weaknesses; I think that’s sufficient given how much damage those already do

the railgun fire mode for the revolver instakills them so i think they are completley fine.

You need 0.5 seconds to charge it and line up a shot, then you get to kill one, then you have to wait, what, 3 seconds for another piercing shot to be ready? Coins have a similar cooldown, but you can bring them out faster and easier, they have a chance to get two at a time, and most importantly, you can store up to four coins.

They dodge saws, making them tend to strafe around saw traps. Plus, it takes way too many saws to kill them.

Knuckleblaster doesn't kill them in one hit, and that's enough to make it too slow to kill. You could uppercut them, I suppose, but that takes a second or so of setup and you might miss.

idk if they're dodging saws they're both totally harmless and also wasting their dodge so you can pelt them with something else; it's not like the saw will waste hits when it doesn't hit anything either. Gives you all the time in the world to shoot them with anything else or continue to camp on/behind the saw trap

two KBs will kill them even if you don't go for the face; KB does 2.5 dmg on punch and Streetcleaners have 4.5 hp

It's not about making them harmless; if you want to force them to dodge you can just use the whiplash. Actually killing them is the issue here.

Also, having to do a knuckleblaster punch, then wait until you can do another knuckleblaster punch, is not an efficient method.

2x KB was just the most effortless example after coins; slab basics also do 2.5 dmg my friend
KB + slab or slab + KB, both bodyshots

in other words, they're weak to taking damage

All I can imagine is...
Light fuse... Run Away...
Catalyst triggered by red explosions and KB perhaps...

Considering their function is deflection and armour for the roaming melee hoard, making it too easy would invalidate their purpose...

Something along lines of Halo's needler / needle rifle would be an interesting tool to deal with them.

I feel that the only changes thats needed is needed is that it recharges the dodge a little bit slower

Slab + KB is actually an interesting combo; I might end up trying that, but coin instakill still takes out streetcleaners way too easily compared with other options.

I was actually thinking, maybe the coin instakill be made harder to hit, and in exchange, they could get instakilled by overheat nails/saws too.

I just shotgun on their face

freezing a rocket infront of them makes them blow up and it's pretty funny because they cant do anything about it
They usually always just have enough stamina for one special move at a time so you can tire em out with a whiplash and follow it up with anything else that would make them dodge right after. Because of this, I like getting high up, whiplashing him, whiplashing him again after his dodge, pull him to myself and Knuckleblaster him into the ground (this also works wonders for basically any other medium enemy, instakill.) otherwise, the slab revolver can outright destroy them via pure power.

If you want to confront the Streetcleaners face to face (or rather, a flashlight to a gas mask?), baiting them to do the side dodge with a projectile works reliably to set them up for an easy kill. Even a single Nail will make them a sitting duck for the Knuckleblaster or a Shotgun blast followup. Done fast enough, that works better when the space or time are too limited for a Ricochot.

Otherwise, the Streetcleaners are too dumb to dodge the Sawtraps properly, and get shredded by them just like anything else grounded. Lastly, the Alternate Revolver can brute-force right through them, and even set off their back tank with overpenetration.
