Precise Mouse sensitivity control when?
Every time I want to play this game I have to drop my mouse DPI to 200 to get close to the mouse sense that I use in all games.
But even this does not allow me to get "perfect" mouse sensitivity, so I opt to change FOV to get 1 to 1 mouse speed in screen space...
But that's just a Band-aid on a snapped bone sticking out of the body.

First it seems like FOV does not affact mouse sensitivity in this game.
Second, you'd have to play with a sensitivity of 360inches/360° wich is insanely low and no one shoud play at that mouse sensitivity.

(for context an avaerage CS:GO player has a mouse snsitivity of about 20.5inches/360° )

this game supports anywhere from 90inches/360° to 0.9inches/360° at 800dpi (average eDPI of CS:GO player)

First off... I don't speak dumb.
Use the standard units used across everywhere except America.
Also known as Metric system.

200 DPI
30 in game sense.

No, FOV does not effect sense in almost any game.
But it does effect my aim that is visual based.

If I see a enemy at the corner of the monitor, I know how much I need to move the mouse.

If my sense cannot meet the exact required sense for 90x121 FOV Where it will be.. was it... 6.8cm (This number might be way off what it is cuz I honestly don't remember) of movement to the 16x9 screens edge.
I will have to adjust the FOV to meet the required standard.

In any normal game that gives precise mouse speed control, I'll adjust the mouse sense to 30cm for a 360, while preferably using 800 DPI
And with my experice with Mouse-Sensitivity.com, Just because math says it's 30cm for 360, I'll make sure with a physical measuring tape.
As it appears that the math is wrong for quite many games.

Sorry I wrongfully assumed you were American and didn't check to see if you were Finn, (I also use metric)

It does affect mouse sens in certain games and not in others.
(Also mouse "sense" doesn't make sense to me since it is an abbreviation of "sensi"tivity thus at best it would be "sensi" not "sense" I'll refer to it as "sens")

This section doesn't make any sense to me, first off there's a required sens on a certain FOV? Second you don't move to the screen edge and also the 6.8cm figure doesn't change based on FOV as you implied in your original post, it only let's you see more or less of the screen which affects gameplay but not in a drastic way (at least in differences of 40% or more for example).

Mouse speed remains the same as it is the physical constant in these calculations (actually mouse distance, as we aren't talking about mouse acceleration) so no game has mouse speed control.

From what I gathered you are upset about the Max discrepancy in cm/360° being of up to 5%.
This difference is neglegible and practically doesn't affect gameplay, I myself have a 10% one and I barely notice any difference during testing of the engine (for other reasons) let alone during gameplay.

In my original reply I reported the highest possible discrepancy I could find and it was still less than 10%, I don't find it resonable for the devs to change the whole of the aiming code or the dev time they have to put in to find the section required to make such a change.

Lets think of a scenario.

You are in a game.
You can see a object on the left side of your physical monitors screen space.
If you increase the FOV, the object will appear closer to the middle of the screen.
If you decrease the FOV the object will disappear from the screen.

Scenario Over.

The amount of mouse movement required to get crosshair to the object stays the same regardless of the FOV.
BUT...
You perception of the object position changes with the FOV change.
Thus, if you have correct sense but incorrect FOV such as too high, you will undershoot the target, if it's too low, you will overshoot the target, unless you were shooting at a audio que because you couldn't see the target due to the lower FOV.

I personally Do not think "Target is there, so it's X amount of decrees of turning to get crosshair to it.
I think "there is X amount of distance between target and the crosshair, thus I need to move this much to get to it"

Now, What does 90x121FOV mean, well, it means 90 Vertical FOV and 121 Horizontal FOV.
If FOV slider is attached to Vertical FOV then your monitors width will increase the Horizontal FOV.
And if FOV Slider is Attached to Horizontal FOV then your monitors width will decrese the Vertical FOV.

With this we establish that 90FOV is not always 90FOV.
And we now understand why I mentioned the screen aspect ratio.

As we established before, FOV is tied to your Screen Space Aim.
If your Mouse speed and screen space aim are not in synk, you will miss everything that happens within your screen space.

Thus we now understand why I changed my FOV to get my "mouse speed" correct.

I'm still searching for comments esp from devs on what the FOV slider adjusts, is it the vFOV or hFOV. Nothing found so far. Any devs here that can reply on this topic?

Just like OP I have to hack around with unconventional DPI to match sens from other games, would highly suggest to add granular adjustment of sens in game or through config file. The FOV always seems way off, to whatever I set.

months ago, it was added in wait of the world
"Added console command "input mouse sensitivity" to allow setting mouse sensitivity with decimals"
