2. It is triggered when you shoot a coin just as it flashes
3. Shooting the coin makes it targets two heads (or explosion points)
Another question i have is how can you chain splitshots (or at least have more than one splitshot occur by having multiple coins in the air at the same time)? The terminal data on the flesh prison suggests that I should be doing it alrealdy, so Im more just asking how hard is it exactly to achieve that.
Also thanks to both of you for the quick response
There’s a video on Youtube about coins in Ultrakill, I suggest that you watch that

slab shots still benefit from the split timing; it adds hits. If you aren't getting multiple pierces, slab piercer charge shots actually outperform the blue rail. The railcannons can bounce off of coins and get a slight damage bonus, but they don't benefit from the early/late windows.
You can do around half of the 4-2 Sisyphean Insurrectionist's health with a couple of multiarm buffs, the slab charge shot, and coins thrown straight upwards.
Also, while the slab charge shot normally does 4 hits to the first enemy and 2 hits to a second enemy behind it, using a coin forces all hits to dump on the same target until it dies. Even with a single coin, slab charges are powerful.
If both coins are in a "split" window, then they will cause a splitshot when they chain together. It's easiest to do this on coins that are in the second split window (when they're falling to the ground).
