When he makes a spear, he goes above you. Dash out of the way, dash jump is good. Next he will throw it. Dash jump is great to avoid this too.
In his second phase he goes faster and attacks more often and teleports more often.
for example, sword sword teleport throw, or spear spear teleport throw.
Observe his patterns, dodge his attacks, blast his face whenever he taunts. Drill and Pump Charge are amazing weapons for him. Some swear by the nailgun but the moment I dropped it I got P rank on *violent* Gabriel.
I'm pretty sure you can parry his melee attacks too but I was never able to do it. Parrying swordsmachine's melee is hard enough.
I ended up making the fight a lot harder for myself because I always kept forgetting to use the railcannon.
Screwdriver might work for consistent DPS and heals, but it might be better to just shotgun him when he taunts and use either the electric or malicious railcannon instead.
It's a testament to how the game encourages you to get better at it.
gabe "s attack are mostly either malee or projectile that can be dodged at range so getting close means taking alot of damage
nail gun has terrible heal rate and if you are shoving it at his face you will soon find out that he is depleting your max hp more and more
so in short it not worth it
I also smoked the other mini-boss tier enemies like Swordsmachine (Agony and Tundra too) and Hideous Mass with very little effort. Enemy encounters that gave me trouble in my first play-through are a breeze now.
I haven't gotten back to Gabe yet but I feel confident that I'm going to beat him much easier than my first go-around. It really is amazing how well this game, particularly the nonstop balls-to-the-wall action of Cyber Grind, teaches you to get better at it.
Have I mentioned that I really like playing the Cyber Grind? Seriously, I love that game mode. It's worth the price of admission alone.
V2: ricoshot for a guarenteed hit. Screwdriver for massive damage, but malicous is more reliable for hits.
King Minos: shoot it until it dies. JK parry the punches and shoot the hands for blood.
Gabe: use ricoshot and shoot him with the screwdriver when he taunts.
