King Minos' punch

Currently on the Shadow of King Minos boss and I'm having a blast fighting it, but no matter what I do I can't seem to dodge his punch attack. Is it intentionally unavoidable to encourage you to heal yourself through damaging him? Or is there a trick to dodging this attack?

Your dash has invincibility frames. Try to use the dash not to avoid the punch, but spot-dodge through it. Basically, wait longer before dashing. You can also parry his fist by punching it, but the dodge is easier.

Yeah I'm kind of getting the hang of punch/parrying it but I'll try your advice of timing my dash. Keep getting so close lol

yeah just parry them. makes life easier, and you look like a badass.

As others have said, use your i-frames from your dash. If you time it right you can pass right through his fist unharmed.

btw... as far as I can see, there is no damage in the game that cannot be avoided.

In my experience if you quickly move to the opposite half of the arena (like if he uses his right hand, move to his left hand) it doesn't hurt you

Yeah the way I finally did it (and pretty easily) was to just run from side to side, shoot his eyes with the pistol and railgun and parry his incoming punches and then continue to punch the nearest hand (as he usually knocks you near one) to get as much hp as possible. It's important to maintain movement and occasionally use the stairs to slide dodge if you have too.

Necropost to be sure, but easiest way to beat him.

Shotgun swapping. Hold down MB1 with your shotgun out, then after every shot hit whatever key you have to switch modes. You'll get out around two shotgun blasts a second and because of his size basically anything will hit him.

Punches you just dash into. You have invincibility frames when you dash, so yeah just zip right into the fist, or left or right but just before you get hit and you'll take no damage.

Black hole is slow, just move in a loop around the arena.

Snake orbs are slow and you can just parry them back.

0 damage on Violent in under a minute with stock shotgun and that's it. It really is that easy.
