How do you melee kill the flamethrower units to unlock Warrior In a Garden

Wanting to 100% this game and thats the last achievement I need before its just Rouge Steel/Firefight grinding. No matter what I try, I cannot kill the flamethrower units without a bullet fired from a weapon.

Ive tried kicking their weakpoint, lobbing stuff at their weakpoint, lobbing exploding objects at the weakpoint, lobbing exploding guns at the weakpoint, killing all enemies EXCEPT them, turning off all the other mutators except Warrior Monk.

Is there something Im missing or is the game just bugging out on me?

Drop your weapon and punch or throw weapon. Usually 3 hits. Kick not working is a bug iirc.

You were indeed correct, only punching them worked.

However you can also just turn on the ninja mutator so all the enemies are stealth enemies, it removes the heavy flamers and the flying dudes at the end. Made it so much easier and got it lol.
