Better multi-core support, native widescreen options, and achievements would have been fine if the core game was intact, but you're getting less for your money. Stick with the original game from Steam or GOG and just install a community bugfix patch, you're better off. Pressing '9' to disable the 'updated' visuals doesn't remove the lengthy loading screens or fix bugged NPC interactions, either, so I couldn't stand playing it. Sorry, 3DR, but this was a disappointing miss.
Maybe if significant patches are released over the years, I'll buy it again.
