Cleever shield Explosion stat question

I found a cleever shield that have like an explosion symbol +3. Is it good or bad? Like is it enemy have more crit on me? Or does it have a bonnus on shield bash? Or like if i parry something my shield gonna explode?

Tried to (L) it but it's only give me general cleever equipment info and i have no idea how to scroll over an item stat without the bubble moving with the mouse. :/

It is the shield bash's damage. It used to be a shield icon like every other weapon types for easy reference, but it was understandably mistaken for a defense boost rather than an offensive stat.
