It's best not to get the first wave of a new Nvidia GPU, they almost always have heat issues. Wait for the second wave release.

Back in normality where most people on steam own a gtx 1060. It's more likely most will buy an RTX 3060 or 3050.

quite the opposite actually as with better drivers post launch the performance gap always widened! 3080 is insanely good! 699$ and outperforms 2080ti which was 1200$
not sure why so salty but this is amazing!! And i switch from the 1080 to the 3080 and my 1080 was also almost double the price!

699$ or 1200$ it's still overpriced. Remember this is for ONE component not the whole pc.

My 2070 Super (and the rest of my specs) will be just fine and having upgraded a year ago from a 970, I'm happy enough to wait for the 40 series.

I can't see myself upgrading from my 1080Ti for one game. Not to mention there really isn't much point unless you are trying to achieve 4K with a strable 60FPS.

If anything, my CPU really needs an upgrade. I'm still coasting with my i7-4790k

i feel my 1080ti and 4790k slogging own in VR tbh lol. one big reason i wanna upgrade my cpu and gpu. i want to upgrade to a 3090 (Saved my check from earlier this year for this tbh). and if i'm upgrading i better be getting sexy as hell gains, whole reason i skipped the 2000's line. But indeed the 4790k is a great cpu, but it's at its deathbed tbh ;(
