New VR bugs:
So i got in my rift, loaded up steamvr and tried to load squadrons only to find it not working and I had to close out of steamvr and launch through oculus. Now the overlays I use for all my steam games don't work since steam vr is disabled. Honestly the game worked like a dream before and now i feel pretty cheated. Please let steamVR users use steamVR like the other headsets.

Another bug is the black(ish) transition screen has been changed. I can't exactly say what it used to be but now it is a circle gradient that is "per eye" and makes it very uncomfortable to look at and makes you go crosseyed. Here is a picture i made to demonstrate how it looks now:

The biggest bug of all right now is the messed up shadows. There are not the screen space ones (i think) but the normal shadows. They have a weird artifact where they not only seem to be visible through any surface but are incorrect and in fact just complete squares. Add on to this that the resulting image is different for each eye and there is a very uncomfortable cross-eyed effect when looking at them.

As it stands you can't turn them off only set the quality to low.
Here is a video showing the shadows in motion:

Specs:
3800x at 4.2ghz
32gb of ddr4 at 3000mhz
m.2ssd
1080ti
Rift CV1

I've done all i can on my part to explain and demonstrate the bugs. Please Motive i hope these can be fixed soon and I won't have to wait for the next big patch to play the game

EDIT: So the issues aside from no steamVR seem to have disappeared and i suspect that the reason had to do with oculus SS profiles that were setup in Oculus Tray tool. It looks like there was a profile for "starwarssquadrons" and a profile for "Star Wars Squadrons" as well as my global setting and these were all different. I've never had this be an issue as a game typically chooses on over the other, but it almost looks like they were all fighting for dominance during gameplay. after making them all identical, the shadows are normal and the transition screens are normal.

Oh crap not reassuring. The Steam VR version worked like a dream for me on Rift S with no issues at all since they fixed the fps lock a few days ago. Afraid to test it out now.......

Thanks for posting your video.

I've got exactly this too. It's different in left and right eye.

Reducing VR graphics options does help it a little, but it reappears occasionally even at low settings

It's the first update where things seem to have gotten worse overall for my VR . Headtracking stutter now starts as early as 8 minutes
