STAR WARS™: Squadrons
Where to buy an appropriate HOTAS or HOSAS?
Every store in North America is out of these controllers. Some like Newegg offer Thrustmaster controllers "direct from China" which sounds a lot like importing fakes to me. Anybody know where I could order a Thrustmaster t16000m in stock at retail price?

Got my Thrustmaster T16000M off amazon.
Flight Sim and Squadrons pooched the market. All that's really left is gouged prices and resellers.

I ended up going with a VKB Gladiator NXT because they're actually in stock ($120-150 depending on the configuaration). They don't currently have a throttle, though.
Keep checking Amazon for online; they surprised me a day after I bought a Warthog stick from a third party seller with a Warthog base (all I wanted anyway) in stock for normal price. I was able to cancel the third party in time.

Also try local retailers; my local Micro Center doesn't keep the website updated but they get a random assortment every week. Last time I was in I found the Warthog throttle and they had a ton of Logitech 3D Extreme Pros or whatever that stick is.

Walmart, Best Buy, they normally have a few stocked, you might catch one fresh off a truck if you go in.

I think Virpil und the NA VKB Distributor still have stock. Though they are more on the quality side of things. Especially the Virpil Throttle. The new VKB Throttle should arrive 2021.

Actually the market was alrady pooched before Squadron.
the NXT controller might be a decent alternative if you can't get anything, but shipping is overpriced. makes up 1/3rd of the cost of the damn stick..

i'd just keep checking on Amazon and various websites. they're get stock daily.. they had Logitech X52 pro for $199 yesterday.
Thank you all for the input. Keep it coming.
Do yourself a favor, if you go with the X-52, go with the Pro. The vanilla X-52 WILL let you down and fail eventually. I went through 3 of them before switching to the pro back before Logitech bought Saitek.

That said? I SWEAR by the X-56 Rhino. Swappable tension spring in the stick, more buttons, hats, and switches than you'll EVER need in Squadrons, and the stick and throttle feel great.
also check Bestbuy, they recently been getting stock as well.. including the cheaper Thrustmaster Hotas One, which i don't really recommend unless you're totally new to the hobby and aren't going to be flying frequently.. but it might be an option to buy one for now if it's all you can get until something better comes along.

Thats ridiculous for that stick. The x-52 is a 100 dollar stick. it normally runs cheaper than the VKB gladiator NXT and right now that is more than the nxt shipping included.

Both the x-52 and x-52 pro are not good sticks. Over time you will spend more on replacements than you will if you just bought a nicer stick. Thrustmaster hotas warthog is a decent stick for DCS, but the base is very sluggish and sticky. It is the worst possible stick you could buy for star wars squadrons. Squadrons requires a quick and fast joystick where the warthog is the opposite of that.

CH products are good sticks, however they do require rudder pedals since the stick itself doesn't have a twist axis.

The thrustmaster t-16000m is a good stick with a good throttle when you can get it for 100-120 dollars for the stick and throttle combo. It is the defacto budget stick as it is literally all that you need.

The t-flight hotas isn't horrible, but it isn't good. Do not buy one for a penny more than 50 usd.

VKB gunfighers and VIRPIL stick are the best on the market and you will pay a premium for them. However at the current time, many lesser sticks are selling for more than these sticks go for. You can buy the gunfigher mk3 for 500 usd and the warthog is going for 600 at a gouged price right now. So I personally would just wait for the stock to go back up. It will probibly sort itself out by january.

Warthog base is sluggish? Nah, mine is perfect, I only bought that to replace my x-55 Rhino, and that is still in perfect nick as well.

While I actually have both a full CH products set with pedals AND a T-1600m FCS Hotas, I actually use the 16000M Stick with the Pro Throttle and the CHP Fighterstick with the Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle. Well, at least for squadrons. That one extra axis replaces the rudder twist axis perfectly. Don't need more.

Well, you seem to be in a minority. General consensus is that the springs are too strong and lighter and linear setups seem to be preferred among most space sim pilots.

So you get with VKB and Virpil a set of lighter springs and different cams for your space sim needs.
Now if you like the stiff warthog. Awesome for you. I tried it and I dislike it a lot and prefer something lighter for my space sims. Though stiff is great for flight sims.

Hard disagree. The x52 pro has been in the $150-200 range for as long as I've been looking at sticks, and mine has served me faithfully for the past 12 years.

It's still fine, I just wanted a Warthog. I've never had to do anything with it.

And Warthog base sluggish? Now I know you're just shilling for VKB.

I actually sent my first x-55 back because it was 'faulty', it turned out that the problem was on my end. It was a ghosting issue from the USB port and nothing whatsoever to do with the stick or throttle. Like my previous post, the stick/throttle still is perfect and has had zero issues.
X-52 vanilla here. Did the magnet mod and pot adjustments, been working for 8 years. Guess it's always a crapshoot on joysticks. All the advice above is good, go with the best you can afford

The springs and tension is a quite strong and that is perfect for flight sims. If that is fine for you in action heavy space combat, that is one thing, but claiming otherwise would be extremely silly.

Playing with a warthog would certainly for me a problem, because my reaction would be too slow for ace mode. And I tried one in Star Citizen, just like a Gunfighter, Figherstick, T-16000m, etc so I am not talking out of my back.
